Hey, fellow PNWers, I'm organizing a pre-game gathering of Rockets fans for this Thursday's game at the MODA Center in Portland. Anybody's welcome to join us for a round or two. We'll be meeting at the Spirit of '77 Bar, just a few blocks from the arena. Game time is at 7:30, we'll meet at 4:00 and stay until just before 6:00, when we'll head over the MODA in time to catch the pre-game shootaround. A few CFers are already confirmed: @Pizza_Da_Hut will be there with his lady, and of course the lovely @topfive's_gf will be Designated Drivering me. I'm moving to Seattle this June. Already looking forward to making a trip to Portland for a game next season
Don't let the gorgeous summer weather fool you. In October, the weather gods pull a wet gray blanket over the city and it stays there until late May. Other than that, it's an amazing part of the country. Seattle and Portland both rock.
I will be doing a residency program at University of Washington. I'm excited to live there! But if I don't like the weather I could always move back in a couple of years after the residency
Some people love it. I lived in SoCal before moving here, so to me, this constant daily drizzle gets old after the first month or so. Just remember to take your vitamin D so make up for the sunshine you won't be getting!
I'll try to make it! We're leaving Seattle around 12:30 today so we may be too late but if not, look for me in Olajuwon jersey 5 rows back of the Rockets bench at the game. This is our 3rd winter in Seattle and this one has been BRUTAL. I still love it up here but I need the sun to come out now. I'm serious.
Try to make it to Spirit of '77 if you can. We'll be there until almost 6:00. Not sure where I'm sitting yet. I'm getting comp tickets from one of the Rox coaches and won't know where they are until I get to Will Call. Hopefully, they'll be close. Yep. I feel exactly the same. This winter was dreadful.
