Thought the pacing of the LA special was better. They both were very good. As good as his oddball comedy festival couple of years back. "I bought 25,000 dollars worth of bubblegum and gave to the homeless so they could chew it, and still be hungry." Dead.
The Austin one wasn't that good and he kind of repeated stuff from the first one. However I think he is at his best with his sketches. His standup is OK.
I liked the Austin show more just because of delivery and interaction with the crowd -- but both shows were just average compared to his early material. Kind of like Chris Rock's last special -- moments of brilliance with some significant filler.

I must say . . . . . He might want to back off the smokes. His voice is getting raspy When is the 3rd one coming out Rocket River
The Austin show is older, I'm pretty sure it was shot in 2015. I actually saw him in Denver last year and he did most of the jokes from the Austin show, might be why I liked the Austin show better. L.A. was from last year so its more current material. As for repeating things, he's a comedian, using "quiet car ride home" twice wasn't that big of a deal to me, but to each his own.
Saw his show last night in Houston... unreal. Man he was so relaxed and happy. All of his jokes were super recent. I love his humor. It is a mix of raunchiness yet super intelligent at the same time. I was worried so I did not watch his Netflix special before the live show, didn't want to ruin the show. If you have the opportunity to see him tonight go do it. Even if you have to pay double.
I thought his Netflix stand up special was just ok. His voice sounds different which I think affected his timing and delivery.
Wife and I watched them both last night, thought they were both pretty great. If I had to pick, I'd say I enjoyed the Austin one a tad more but both were really funny.
