Maybe there will be more of an urgency if he came on here and sees what we have to endure

I'm glad you posted and YOU'RE OUT! But to correct you on your 4 points.

    1. He wanted out of SF, not the other way around. That's why he reworked his contract the previous yr.
    2. I not only compared him to Brock but Romo, Savage and any other FA that's available. He's better than the remaining options and any other rookies that are coming out of the draft, as far as a Week 1 starter. I don't trust Savage or Romo to answer the bell come Week 1, due to their injury history.
    3. Colin took Alex Smith's job and lead the Niners to the Super Bowl. He came back the next yr and lead the Niners to the NFC Championship Game. LOOK AT THE NUMBERS. His numbers didn't begin to fall until Harbaugh left. He was hurt in 2015, came back in 2016 and finished the yr in a new system and still had 16 TDs and 4 Ints.
    4. We ALL know how good Hoyer is from his time with the Texans.

I agree that he has not been signed due to his protesting, but not because of talent.

OMG... so you will mention how he took Alex Smith's job but not how he LOST it to Blaine GABBERT! And don't throw TD/INT numbers at me with a 2-14 record.... just silly man, the guy sucked, his team knew it, everyone else knows it, and even if he was good enough, he's a RUNNING QB, what makes you think that will work in BOB's system?

The reason why SF played Gabbert was they didn't want to pay Kaep if he got hurt. Gabbert should not have played over Kaep. Gabbart has been bad everywhere he has played.

Agree on Gabbert.. but not playing a guy because you have to pay him if he gets hurt is so ridiculous.. how bad must he be that it's not worth the risk?

No dued, you have it backwards. Lol! SF knew they were bad last yr., so rather than pay Kap, they decided to go w/Gabbert.

I'm not for sure how his contract was structured but I think if Kap had got hurt, they would have to guarantee an additional yr. After Kap restructured his contract, SF put him on the field. So it was about $$, not talent

Those numbers are skewered! Both of Brock and Siemen had much better talent surrounding them, many of SF's players had retired, were released or traded. Look at their roster from 2013 to last yr.

Besides, he's proven what he can do when he's surrounded by talent and he's healthy.

    24 Ryan Tannehill, MIA 7.4 25.5 3.7 0.7 40.2 476 55.5 54.6
    25 Cam Newton, CAR 7.6 24.4 6.2 5.4 53.4 669 54.0 53.1
    26 Carson Wentz, PHI 11.3 47.9 2.9 2.1 65.0 734 55.4 52.8
    27 Eli Manning, NYG 10.1 49.7 0.4 1.2 62.0 660 55.4 51.8
    28 Blake Bortles, JAX -2.4 18.9 13.4 6.0 52.2 773 48.9 49.2
    29 Ryan Fitzpatrick, NYJ -8.2 14.7 3.2 2.9 27.8 481 44.0 45.4

I guess Brock was better than Cam, Wentz, and Eli. We should have definitely kept him.

It's still hilarious that we have Kap apologists popping up.

He was great when the read-option first hit the NFL and defenses (and coaches) were not prepared to stop it. However, once defensive coaches developed schemes for it, he's been pretty much mediocre playing a more traditional offensive system. Ironically, so has RGIII - another FA QB out there floating around with no takers.

I'm disappointed: Where are the Johnny Manziel apologists?

That's why you can't cherry pick stats and just use it to make your argument; like TD/INT. Some on here will be quick to remind you that Hoyer had a better TD/INT ratio than EVERY QB IN THE LEAGUE last year. We should have definitely kept him huh?
