If Reed makes the team I see a 1b platoon with Gurriel with Gurriel playing a lot of lf against righties. I wouldn't think Reed would play much if at all against lefties. We are really one right handed OF away from being solid 1-9 everyday. It would be great if Marisnik finally learned to hit, but doesn't look like that will ever happen.

The cuts keep coming. I can't edit post #142 anymore. I think Riefenhauser is a dark horse to make the roster. Only lefty left in camp beside Sipp. I could see them keeping him over Hoyt/Gustave.

Good lord... this is a 46 year old grown ass man. I'm embarrassed for anyone associated with him at any level.
That looks like the dude I yelled at for trying to cut the line on Altuve bobblehead day. Just missing the meth-ed out looking wife.
Jake Kaplan ✔ @jakemkaplan Tony Kemp, Jon Singleton and Tyler Heineman sent to minor league camp this morning. 7:14 AM - 19 Mar 2017
I find it interesting that Fisher, Davis, Kemmer, Garcia, and Perez are still in big league camp. Could be many reasons as to why, but generally speaking it's got to be a good sign for those guys.
Reed, Moran, White, Teoscar optioned. Centeno, Stassi, Brignac, Davis, Kemmer, Garcia, and Fisher are the only position players left who are not expected to make the opening day roster.
With Bregman, Correa and Beltran still in the WBC, one would expect minor leaguers to fill in, right? Stassi would be the exception. Stassi is trying out for his new team. If Stassi plays well enough, the Astros might even be able to trade versus release him.
Reed had one hell of a Spring, but with the Astros apparently wanting to limit Beltran's games in the OF, there really wasn't any steady playing time for him. Somebody will go down and he'll get his chance, hopefully he is better prepared to handle it this year.
Tells you they weren't really competing for jobs (not much more Reed or Moran could have done). Not that I have a real problem with that. Would seem to lock in us carrying 13th pitcher.
I hope Reed and Moran (and the rest) realize this and dont let it get into their psyche (in a bad way). Our pitching dept. is definitely the less definitive when it comes to who is healthy and who will pitch well. Guess the 13th makes sense in this light.
While I understand the reasoning, I cant help feeling he has nothing left to prove in AAA. Furthermore, to up his game, he really needs to see ML pitching. Its a shame he wont, at least in the early going.
God I hope not. His 6 walks in 5.2 IP this spring don't inspire any confidence he'll be better than what he has been in his limited MLB time.
It is really hard to win a job in Spring. Only thing those two could do to win jobs were hope Beltran was an OF and drastically cut down the Ks without hurting power tools much.
