LOL "dynamic Kaepernick" that's a new one. Maybe you are one of his last fans, if so it might be a good idea to start paying attention to Canadian football.
If you can find the same Colin Kaepernick that took his team to the superbowl and also go ahead and pry Harbough from UM, sign me up. The Colin Kaepernick that is available is the only that played the last two seasons. He has been below average. Thats the Kaepernick you should be comparing to my list. He's not horrible, but he's not the QB this team needs.
BTG spitting truth in this thread. In all seriousness we need to just accept this dude's hot take is absolutely garbage and realize it's a thread of 20 people telling a single guy he's wrong. I'm out.

Lets stop basing our opinions on assumption and false narratives. Look at the facts please. If you did not know the name of the QB; lets say this was Brock's career stats then how would you feel? This is better then any other free agent QB or what you could expect from any rookie year QB. At least as your bidge until your rookie is ready to be he man. Do we say he sucks because he is different or he because the media says so so we repeat it? This is better performances then we have had outside of one QB(#8) we have ever had.
Brock had a better QBR than Colin last. See, I too can cherry pick stats to validate my points. And can we stop comparing with Brock? The team doesn't just need better than Brock. It so, they might as well have kept Brock because he was bound to get better at least a little bit this year. They need a solution at QB that makes them a championship contender. CK doesn't do that.
It's not about comparisons, because there is none. Anyone who knows and watch football, can see that Kap is clearly better than Brock or anything else out there but just as you said, it's about finding a solution. If we go into THIS season counting on Savage, Romo or a rookie, we are playing to loose! JJ, Cushing, Joseph and the other Defensive players are getting older, we dony have 3yrs for a Rookie to develop. We need someone who gives us a LEGITIMATE chance and Kaepernick is the best chance. I still think you draft a QB in round 1 but it's time for The Texans to SOLVE the QB PROBLEM!!
I mean if I had a gun to my head and had to pick between Brock and Kap, I'd.... I'd probably get shot due to indecision! No, honestly I'd take Kap. I think Kap can have some value in the right system. I still think he'd be a good fit in a Kubiak system for example. That said, he's not GOOD, and he's not a needle mover for this team and certainly not worth the headache.
I don't want a needle mover.....I just want someone who can throw 3 or 4 times as many TDs, than INTs! That's what Kap did last yr
He has been terrible for going on two seasons. Not a good QB who seemed to excel under Harbaugh and has been a pretty crap player since. I have no issues with him as a backup but I don't think he is an upgrade over Savage/Weeden, which is shocking considering how he looked years ago when he was in the read/option
Kapernick tried to do some damage control announcing he would stand for the anthem this year, but the damage is done. If he were still perceived to be a good QB, he would have a starting job, and there would have been a fight to get him. But nobody thinks he's all that good, and he is a massive PR headache for a sport whose fans base skews conservative. There are almost 100 QB jobs in the NFL, somebody will take a flyer that in the right system he can be good. But I imagine he's simply gonna latch on as a backup, nobody is gonna give him a starting job outright. And no team owned by Bob McNair will even consider picking him up.
Couple quick things them I'm out of this stupid thread: 1. If Colin had any worth left at all, Niners would have reworked his contract instead of dropping him and picking up BRIAN HOYER 2. I am sick and tired of people just comparing to Brock. Like being better than Brock means we should bring them on board... OK, call every team not named the Browns and ask for their 3rd string while we are at it. 3. The Niners were already good and going to the SB with Alex Smith, for proof, see how the team has literally nose-dived since and Kaep has stayed QB, while the Chiefs go to the playoffs. 4. I repeat, the team that had Kaep, got rid of him and opted for Brian effing Hoyer instead.
