Stroman has given up 6 hits, to the first 6 batters he's faced. That's actually hard to do. Just nothing on his pitches. Breaking ball is not breaking, and his fastball doesn't have enough. Total batting practice out there.
Correa and Beltran seem to have amazing chemistry. These games are funner to watch thend most regular season games

(AP Photo/Gregory Bull) Astros teammates Carlos Correa and Carlos Beltran continue to power Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic. Correa and Beltran, batting third and fourth respectively, put Puerto Rico on the board in the first inning with back-to-back RBI singles to right field off Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman in Friday's 6-5 win over U.S.A. at Petco Park in San Diego. Correa and Beltran also hit back-to-back singles in the bottom of the fifth inning, prompting Orioles pitcher Mychal Givens to come on in relief of Stroman. Correa had a walk and stolen base to go with his 2 for 3 night. He is batting .357 at the WBC while playing third base for Puerto Rico. Beltran is batting .353 for the tournament and went 2 for 4 with a strikeout on Friday. Puerto Rico has scored 38 runs in five games at the WBC. Correa and Beltran have knocked in 11 of those runs. The Cardinals' Yadier Molina and the Twins' Eddie Rosario also supplied RBIs for Puerto Rico. The Mets' Seth Lugo earned the win with two strikeouts, a walk and three earned runs over 5.2 innings. Puerto Rico will face Venezuela at 2:30 on Saturday at Petco. Sponsored Stories
Let me pre-face this with: I don't know much about international baseball. Why does it seem like latin countries use their best players and the USA doesn't?
So question: Do y'all like all the emotions displayed during the WBC after players make a big play? I'm kind of enjoying it.
yeah, it would be nice to have Kershaw, Mike Trout, Bryce Harper and our other top stars there, for sure.
Since they are a U.S. possession, I'm claiming them. Really that aspect gets into the problem with the WBC. In America we are tied very closely to our favorite teams and we root for our favorite players who often times aren't Americans (and even when they are, they often play for another team). Meanwhile, most of these foreign countries love their favorite players, who for a change are playing all on the same team. We have the freedom not to go, and some players choose not to because they think it may lead to higher risk of injury.
All the players have the freedom not to go .... the Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Venezuelans... etc... choose to go. The Americans choose not to go while the others choose to go.... I wonder why that is.
