Not to be a buzzkill but if you use those same criteria for Brady he meets 2 and has 4 red flags. Finding a QB is pure luck, always has been and always will be.

I saw another lesser known mock(cbssports.com)that has Mahomes going #6.

 

I've seen Mahomes from 6 to 25 to not in the first round. It's misinformation season.

Hell, I'm pretty sure Mcshay's latest mock has the Texans taking Trubisky at 25.

Matt Miller's latest mock (as much as I hate his mocks) is a two rounder. Has us taking Mahomes in the first and TJ Watt in the second.

This doesn't address our right tackle spot, but I would absolutely love it. If we choose not to address right tackle early, I hope this is the way we go. Watt gives you an instant upgrade over a pretty good John Simon, in my opinion, plus, he's only been playing the position for less than 24 months. Plus, him, paired with his brother on the same the as Clowney would be insane.

 

I think just about everyone knows how much I want a RT drafted in the first, and how I'm not a believer in this QB class, but if it turned out that way, I'd be down with it.

 

I would want an offensive lineman with that second pick, but if Watt were to make it that far, no doubt I would love this early start to the draft. Too good to be true.
