During the Tennessee finale, around halftime. It was reported they had a heated exchange. Apparently,it got physical and O'Brien had to be restrained by players and coaches.

Makes you realize Osweiler was gone no matter what.

    O'Brien is an idiot.

This has happened multiple times with him.

And no, it doesn't mean you have to waste a second round pick

-Offensive specialist with an offense that sucks
-QB guru who wants bad QB and then wants to beat the cr@p out of them
-Claims his offense is very complicated but we haven't seen it work yet
    -Billy O's gonna Billy O

There's a difference between yelling at and getting in someone's face, and having to be physically restrained, which is what is being reported here.

In football (not sure if you played), even in high school, yelling, such as Brady and Izzo, happens all the time.

Coaches don't usually need to be restrained from players, though.

It's funny how many O'Brien haters we have, given how successful the guy has been. False facts everywhere in this thread.

That's not really someone being restrained.

What this site is reporting is that there was a physical confrontation, and O'Brien had to be restrained. Maybe it's the same. They're making it seem like it was something more than the Izzo thing. The Izzo thing was nothing. That stuff happens all the time.

I guess it just depends on how badly you want to paint either party involved.

Fact of the matter is that Brock is no longer on the team. Izzo is still coaching. To me, that says something.

    Lol.

Your hate for O'Brien is unhealthy and unfounded. Most successful coach in franchise history.

How come we don't hear about other head coaches having to be restrained from their assistants and players? It looked like it was going to get physical if others hadn't stepped in. Same thing. He's gotta be more professional than that.

You can't ignore the fact that if the team was serious about getting Romo they needed the cap space to do it and extend Hopkins. That had a part to play in why Brock was gone.

Kubiak was clearly a far better coach and personnel guy

    Arguably Crennel too

To be fair, he is consistent and it is toward both the coach and the GM

I don't think that was going to get physical if someone hadn't stepped in. Lol

No offense, but did you play football?

I literally had a coach hit me in the head with a football as I was about to snap it, and ask me if I was r****ded....And it was because I wasn't holding the ball the way he wanted me to. I had never snapped a ball before that point...

These kind of things happen, they're just usually not caught on camera.

O'Brien's a fiery guy. Just cuz he yells at someone doesn't mean he is going to get physical with them.

As I said, maybe this is nothing, but this makes it seem like it was more than that. Osweiler being traded, too, this thing was not working at all. I'm sure behind the scenes these guys didn't mesh at all.

Touche. Him and btg are pretty much the same people with ideas of the opposite spectrum. Both can be very annoying at times. No wonder they block each other and then use other peoples quotes to snark back and forth still. LOL its a funny world.

This kind of news just goes to show you this qb was put on him and he was forced to "deal" with it. Damn you rick and Bobby.

I did not play football professionally. There's a difference when it is professional. You can get away with it at lower levels. Yes, I've been there. These are grown men making more money than the coaches. If it happened all the time then it wouldn't make headlines. Both times (Izzo and Brady) made national news.

What other coach have you heard that has physical confrontations or has to be restrained from his players/assistants?

Once again, there was no physical confrontation with anybody but Brock (if you believe the report fully).

He yelled at Brady. He yelled at Izzo. Nothing more. Someone was calming him down. Wasn't really restraining.

He's not Bobby Knight, whipping chairs at players and choking them. He's never had to be restrained from an official. He's never gone after an opposing player.

Perhaps he's doing something called coaching. But his brand is a little different.

Perhaps we hear about them and see them because we live and breathe Houston Texans football, and not any other team?
