This is an above average conspiracy thread at best. I like it though.

"Nike Basketball, the company’s largest division other than running, saw its total wholesale revenue fall 1% in 2016 compared to the previous fiscal year – a rare sign of weakness in a category Nike has consistently dominated ... The head of Nike’s basketball division resigned in [June 2016] as the company attempts to re-establish its dominance in the sector."

Of course two years ago when Harden was a dark horse MVP candidate and we went to the western conference finals, ESPN was almost exclusively pro-Curry as he won. Harden was still with Nike then.

The Nike CEO wasn't on the Disney board of directors then.

Compare ESPN's coverage of Harden to other sporting media. Are they any more negative?

    Yes...o_Oo_Oo_O

Michelle Beadle and Rachel Nichols openly bash Harden unrepentantly...

This is also the same company that brings you Warriors Wednesdays on their most popular basketball entity ever since Durant got to Golden State...

what he is saying is: are the other sports media outlets running a narrative that is so different from ESPN's narrative, that it would lead one to suspect foul play? the answer is no. Every part of sports media is having the same discussion, with the same disagreements and split opinions.

ESPN is the most powerful name in Sports coverage. They set the narrative and other media outlets are frequently reacting to what ESPN puts out.

Zach Lowe presented Kawhi as the leading MVP candidate less than 2 weeks ago. Look how quickly that idea took hold.

Someone please tell me how Michelle Beadle has a job. She's like those girls that go to games and stay on their phone never actually watching the game then only raise their head when the crowd erupts. I sat next to one b4

haha. and zach lowe was also behind the signature game from kawhi last night?? Don't you understand the recency bias? They are going to talk about which ever player played the best the night before. That doesn't imply conspiracy, it shows the recency bias of sports media.

Look. ESPN aside, we are beginning to whine a little too much.
Lets be real, if Harden scored that layup and we won that game, I'm quite sure everyone would be preaching MVP this morning, including a few ESPN heads. But we didn't. We lost the game, and there are consequences like Kawhi being praised . Is it fair? To us, nope. But to someone who values Kawhi more, he would argue the same, why is Harden the MVP when we split the series with them and Kawhi's team has a MUCH better record.
Again, we lost, **** them. Believe me, **** them. Instead of profiting $750 I lost $500. Just gotta move on and get back to playing basketball. If we play right good chance Harden can get another shot at them in the playoffs.

WOW! You make Rockets fans look like such little bit***s with that post, and those that liked it are just as pathetic. You all have to be called out on this.

How is that proof. They open with a Butler game winning shot in large part to Stacey's hilarious commentary. Then they say how Houston would be an obvious choice for team to talk about but decided to give New Orleans a little spotlight because them winning is not as expected. Then they get into the player of the week segment to close it out and so seemingly, that would be when its appropriate to talk about Harden. They award him with player of the week and say its not even close. They endlessly praise him, along with Steve Smith naming him MVP.

Embarrassing. No wonder people hate on our players if that's how our fans are crying.
