[Movie] Star Wars Episode VIII

When the enterprise had the traveler (aka child rapist) on board they exceeded warp factor 10 and theoretically occupied all points in space. They cannot even use transporters in Star Wars therefore it is almost a certainty their crappy planet shields could do nothing to stop a force from instantly occupying a planet. Not to mention when the r****ds in star wars invade a planet they land on the other side for some reason. (phantom menace)

 

Hopefully Fin and Rey die terrible deaths and Han Solo comes back to life.

 

They just be playing the "didn't see it coming" card.

 

To be fair, as soon as Lucas had full ownership of the Star Wars franchise, he no longer had anyone looking over his shoulder when he was writing the first-draft/final-draft (same thing) of his movies. And that's when TEH SUCK started. He is a terrible writer and an even worse director. What he DID have was enough money to surround himself with people who would kiss his a$$ and tell him he was a genius all the time.

It's no coincidence that Episodes 6, 1, 2, & 3 are dreadful. Only 4 and 5 are great, and those happen to be the two in which he had the least control.

 

Aside from the ewoks, I thought 6 was pretty solid. The final showdown between Palpatine and Luke was one of the high moments of the entire saga IMO.

I tend to agree. The Ewoks were silly, really should have gone with the wookies as originally planned, but the overall movie is pretty solid.

 

am i the only one who really liked the ewoks?

i was probably around 5 years old when i watched star wars and the ewoks were one of my favorite parts.

my top 3 favorite star wars episodes:
-return of the jedi
-space balls
-revenge of the sith

 

Lol yeah I'll grant you guys, 6 was definitely better than 1,2 & 3. However, 6 was still terrible.

'Apart from the Ewoks..' hehehe in other words, 'Apart from one of the worst things in cinematic history..'

But really, the whole thing stinks pretty badly. The whole 'Jabba's Palace' bit was awful (big fat Orcs with axes, really?), the stupid house band was worse than the ewoks.. Sure, Leia in a brass bikini was fun, but story-wise it was silly. The stupid little puppet bird.. Ugh. Boba Fett dying without a single cool thing to really do, when everyone was sooo anticipating something awesome.. but no - AAAAHH!! as he falls into the hole in the ground. Bleh. Both robots falling off the sand yacht, and their little robot feeties sticking straight up out of the sand.. stupid stupid stupid.

And then sneaking onto the moon, and getting separated, and then spending the rest of the movie with the creepiest ugliest worst things ever - Ewoks - Chewie's Tarzan yell.. teddy bears defeating Stormtroopers with rocks and logs. Come on George.. SMDH

Yeah, the final confrontation between Luke, Vader and the Emperor was not too bad. But even that whole bit is soured for me now because of the absolutely crappy way Lucas treated David Prowse.. If you don't know about that, look it up, Lucas is a major-league vindictive a-hole apparently.

 

Why was this worse than the cantina scene in a New Hope?

Saw something on Yahoo! about JJ Abrams saying Mark Hamill should be up for an Oscar for his work in the "The Last Jedi".

 

this means there will be lots of drama where luke get emotional most of the time.

but jj isn't directing tho right? how would he know?
