Fair trade but I don't think Noel will be worth whatever insane deal he gets. I think Philly could have done a little better on the pick protection, but if they can flip Bogut for a second then that's a decent trade.

Whenever the Dallas Mavericks improve, a little part of me dies.

That's the question really. How good can Noel be? He's in the right spot to find out. Lots of floor spacing, good coach, etc. I still like him a lot, but the fear of his contract is real.

I wonder if the 76ers would look at trading Covington back to us. They've got too many wings now, and he could fill a nice role for us as a 3&D role player.

Nerlens Noel is not bad. But good luck to the Mavericks in trying to keep him this summer. There's going to at least one idiot team who is going to overpay Nerlens Noel.

Bogut - From winning a ring to being part of a 73 win team to playoff pretenders to one of the worst teams in the league

Couldn't have happened to a nicer person

Bogut can't go back to Warriors this year, luckily.
    Some ESPN NBA reporter...
"Cleveland has been monitoring Andrew Bogut all season as a potential buyout candidate."

Of course they have. He'll go there or San Antonio. Best shots to win a ring that he can sign with.

The silver lining in this trade to me is that the Mavs are going to have a ton of money invested in Harrison Barnes and Nerlens Noel. Once Dirk leaves, Dallas is going to be a bad basketball team with no real No. 1 guy struggling to crack .500 every season. This makes Dallas better. But it will put them in NBA purgatory for years.

A dual core with Barnes + Noel is half a decade of guaranteed mediocrity.

I'd...do it. As if bought out, I'd sign Bogut.
I mean..why not? Low risk, high reward. Or na?

That one team is probably going to be the Mavs. Not that they are a badly run organization but Cuban is DESPERATE for another star. He should be, but at the same time he needs to learn a bit of patience. I don't think Noel has proved anything really.

If Barnes is a star. Gordon is a future hall of famer.

Agreed. Cuban simply refuses to do a proper rebuild. The Rockets got very lucky that Harden was available when he was. Outside of the Spurs, pretty much every contending team in the NBA today had to build most of their core through the lottery.

Mavs going to offer Noel the max?! would be crazy if they do and they're going to be stuck in mediocre basketball for a few years like how Blazers are when they offer max to their role players.

Wow horrible trade for sixers, ineptitude of new FO is showing. 19+ and Anderson for Noel? Well **** me LOL.

Honestly I wonder how Toronto feels right about now, if you think about it they could've had a combination of Cousins, Noel and possibly Okafor for what they gave up for Ibaka.
