Bogut apparently will be on the move again, not bought out.

1-18 protected.. 76ers messed up with that part!

Should have been top 10 protected.

Matthews/Barnes/Noel all on max long term deals.

    Lmao mediocrity's new Big 3.

    Depends on the rules.

You can set it up however you want really. All we know is this year it's protected 1-18. It then rolls to the next year where it can again have specific provisions. Perhaps in 2018 it becomes protected 1-10 or 1-3 or something. It can roll over to become unprotected or convert to 2nd rounders or simply vanish.

This was literally my first thought when I saw the trade. It's both likely and terrifying.

I'm not sure a team led by Barnes and Noel is good enough to make the playoffs in a typical year in the West. I suppose it depends on if they strike gold in the draft...but they've likely played themselves out of a really high pick they were looking at previously. Reminds me of the 8/9 seed Rockets treadmill we had before James.

Why would PHI trade Noel? He actually fits with the team, has played well especially as a backup, and great insurance for Embiid.
    Okafor should have been traded

I wonder about their salary situation though. They have superstar money committed to Barnes and close to that for Wes Matthews. Noel is likely going to command huge dollars. Is that the core of a top team? I don't think so. I do like that the Mavs are now competing (cough) for the 8th spot... would love to see them sabotage their pick. I wonder what the protections are on the pick from Dallas if it gets transferred to next season.

I loved Justin Anderson coming out of college -- he was like 45% from three his final year at Virginia -- but he's shooting 28.8% from deep so far in the pros. He's got an NBA body and could be a good defender here. I trust Sam Hinkie far more than I do current Sixers management.

Good. I'd love to have him. But if he isn't coming here, I'd rather he wind up in Boston than in San Antonio. It is confirmed he's ineligible to resign with the Warriors til next season, right?

They can still trade off pieces to tank this year a little more. I don't think Cuban is Les so won't surprise me if they tell the coach to actively tank.

Definitely not a top team, just competitive. Won't shock me if they try to dump Wes at some point either though.

It's part of the agreed upon trade. They set up the future protections as part of the deal.
