Pat Patt is not available. However, Thomas Robinson probably is.

Am i the only one that thinks that this is a stupid move? I think Ross was terrific off the bench. They are definetely not good enough with ibaka to beat the cavs and ross has talent and could become a great player in this league. Idk i think they shouldn't go all in as long as james isn't declining too much yet.

It definitely isn't "stupid" for the Raptors. Sure, Ross was a good bench player but he isn't very talented and has shown no sign at all of becoming a great player in 4 1/2 years. Without question, Ibaka is a talent upgrade.

The real question for me is will Ibaka find his place in their offense. The answer seems obvious but I wouldn't take it for granted. We'll see.

The Raptors are broken and they had to do something or you could stick a fork in them this season. This is a move that could have a big upside this season.

It's good to see that the Cavs may actually have to work a little bit harder to get to the finals this year. However, I still don't think this moves the needle enough for the Raptors to put them ahead of the Cavs or even the Celtics.

Morey is on the clock, let's see what he has cooking.

Ok first of all the Rockets just got to the WCF 2 years ago. We absolutely crushed Clippers by coming back from 3-2 and I think destroyed all chances of them becoming relevant ever again. How do you feel about that now? Well obviously you don't care about it anymore because all you talk about is the current season. See this is the problem with fans, all they care about is the present. GO ALL IN! Trade picks who cares about that? Who know what may happen? This playoff run is the most important we are just wasting Harden's prime! 1 year later: WTF Morey is so dumb what's he doing the Rox don't have a ring for the last 20 years worst team evar!!!! I mean how many of guys objected when the Rockets signed Brewer to the contract and traded a 1st round pick for Ty Lawson? Almost nobody right? But 1 year later everyone was talking about how dumb Morey was for doing those moves. So that's why going all in makes sense all the time, but 1 year later you move two steps back and then you complain how dumb the move was and you should double down and go all in again. This is the death spiral Dallas made and so look at them now, the team is full of vets but they suck ass. OTH the Spurs always don't go all in, they make moves that make sense now and for the future and that's why they've been a contender for like 20 years already. If they went all in before and traded Parker for Jason Kidd or traded their picks for more vets, no way in hell LMA or Kawhi would've landed in their laps. If you don't care about WCF appearance just 2 years ago why is getting WCF now so important that you want to trade assets for it? 6 mos from now it will just be a memory but the assets you lose will harm the team permanently and set you back from winning a ring, the true goal of this franchise.

Secondly your proposed trade or DD's proposed trade or whoever's proposed trade doesn't work because we are already over the cap. Pro tip: before you make a sentence like "XXX would have done it" run it through the ESPN trade machine first to see if that's possible. Well it's not possible to trade Ibaka for Harrell or Dekker+1st. To make that trade work we'd have to include Brewer in the trade, and if you're Orlando why will you accept 7M additional salary for Brewer when Raptors are offering you clear capspace straight up? That means we'd have to pay them picks to take on Brewer's salary, remember when Houston had to give a pick to clear Lin's capspace? So that would mean 2 picks+Dekker or Harrel for Ibaka, who can then turn out to be just a rental. 2 picks+Dekker to upgrade from 2nd round to WCF, wow that's just smart thinking and will surely look amazing 1 year later. Obviously injuries can happen and maybe GSW gets injured. But the chances of that are so low why do you want to trade assets and set your team back to bet on it? GSW isn't a dynasty, their team can't afford keeping their core together, both Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are unrestricted free agents and would want the absolute maximum salary. Obv they're gonna lose even more personnel (likely Iggy), so when they weaken instead of being in the right position to pounce Rockets will step back also because they just traded 2 picks+dekker for nothing.

Who can the Rockets add in the offseason by passing on Ibaka now? Well for starters there's Ibaka! He will become a free agent next year! Just because Raptors traded for him doesn't mean they will keep him, there's no guarantee unless Raptors pay him his money upfront. I would like trades but only that 100% upgrade the team in the long run, for example trading for Hezonja would be a good move since Orlando just got Ross, a pick+KJ for a look at Hezonja would be good IMHO. Getting IBaka was a great move for the Raptors because they're just trying to be relevant, Ibaka can give them an ECF appearance against Cavs. Rox oth want to win a ring and maximize Harden's career. Trading for Ibaka now won't make that happen but the assets you lose in the deal will set you back starting next year.

Ibaka's an overrated rental (even if they sign him, they're making a mistake) ...Ross can play D and stick the 3...Check out the last month. He's playing the most consistent/best ball of his career (always had the talent)..plus a late first rounder....C'mon, it's a no brainer.

He would be available most of the time, we have nobody to trade for this slightly above average guy!

Ibaka must be real happy. From backwoods OKC to tiny Orlando but finally an actual big city in Toronto.

    From the ringer

    https://theringer.com/pressing-eastern-conference-questions-36897397d17#.rtxpdcwhc

When Kyle Lowry shares the floor with Patrick Patterson, Toronto outscores teams by an amazing 18.9 points per 100 possessions with per NBA.com. Take Patterson off and that number dips to a middling 0.9. Patterson isn’t a marquee name because the things that he does well — shoot and defend — don’t always manifest into counting numbers.
And note: Patterson has the most mpg after Lowry and DeRozan....so not like it's a small sample vs other teammates

Kevin Martin wasn't done that season, matter of fact he provided good scoring punch, getting 14 PPG on 45% shooting off the bench. The Thunder won 60 games that year and realistically could have made it back to the Finals if Beverley didn't take out Westbrook.

Well i remember OKC fans couldn't wait to get rid of him and his terrible defense + no passing whatsoever, and they were probably right looking at what happened later.

On paper, Toronto is a very good team after the trade. They should win the east if everything works out. The OKC traded Harden to keep Ibaka to have a great team, so Ibaka must be a very good player for any team. The OKC fans just can not figure out what if Harden was not let go, then Durant will be in the team right now.
