Shh... this is some top level analysis/strategy right there. If the rest of the NFL figured this out, it would mitigate Houston's advantage.

    It's time.

    He gave Brock the contract.

He deserves to go. This was the Texans best all around team.

They just wasted it with the worst QB in the league.

The 2011 team was pretty darn good. I'd take them over this one especially with a healthy Schaub. But yes, Rick Smith is a very replaceable GM. He's not going anywhere, though, unfortunately.

Should be fired because he is 80% responsible for Brock and the other 20% is shared between Uncle Bob and BOB. There is no reason to speculate whether Smith is responsible for Brock or not. Direct quotes prove he is and so he should be fired.

"I'm excited," McNair said. "I think these moves give us a chance to go a long way in the playoffs."

McNair said three times since the season ended with the playoff loss to Kansas City his team needed to acquire a quarterback. He mentioned using the draft to find that quarterback but never ruled out free agency or a trade to fill the Texans' biggest need for coach Bill O'Brien.

"Quarterback was our No. 1 priority," McNair said. "He (Osweiler) was the one we wanted."

General manager Rick Smith got Osweiler to leave Denver for a contract that averages $18 million a year.

"He was the guy we wanted," McNair said. "Rick said he was going to get him, and he did. I've got to give him a lot of credit. He did a heck of a job."

Just think how mad McNair is that he not only signed Brock to a big contract, but he also signed Rick to another one. Now he is stuck with them both and there is nothing he can do about it.

You are right. Those are direct quotes that prove that Bill O'Brien is NOT the general manager and does NOT negotiate contracts.

"That worked pretty well, I believe, but who am I fooling, most people just read the twitter post to this article and probably tweeted “Fire Rick Smith” or “Hater” or “Troll” and kept on moving."

He signs QB who can't throw and WR who can't catch.
