I love KJ but agree 100%. To date he has not learned to stay in front of his man. GPII in comparison does as well as Avery Bradley.
Are you guys actually comparing GP2 to KJ? Give me some of what you're smoking. Someone scores 50 in a D-League game and suddenly he's GOAT. KJ >>>>>>> GP2
KJ after 3 years in the league is the better NBA player per se. GP2 is a better on ball defender, already.
Good for him. On fire shooting 3s! He wasn't ready through summer camp and the preseason. And then he had surgery if I'm not mistaken? Hope he's on the right track and the rockets pick him up over ennis or brown eventually but at the right calls were made at the time. He wasn't very productive earlier this year.
Sorry - i feel like this is an obvious question, but - didn't we have him signed to a contract at some point? I thought we picked him up as a FA right after the draft. And here I was thinking he was down there on assignment just like Onuaku... sheesh.
It's funny how people are commenting on his "on the ball defense" and overall play as if they've been analyzing D-league basketball. Why do people on this forum try to talk as if they're scouts? Morey isn't hiring off this forum, especially with all the leaks from "sources" He probably does deserve a spot over Bobby Brown. But neither one is making a bit of difference for our team. And I'm not sure if someone else brought this up in this thread but before we get too excited about his 51 points, I've got two words: DONTE GREENE Look up his D-league debut for us.
Didn't watch any summer league and only a couple preseason games but I would much rather have this guy. Looks way more comfortable handling the rock over all 3 of Ennis, Brown, and GP2. His slashing ability is great and he shows the ability to create for his teammates also. He even hits a few threes in the first one. I'm taking a consistent 26 ppg over a one time big 51 pt game every time, especially in the D league. I feel he could really help the O from stalling at times and could make a nice combo with Gordon, Dekker and Dmo/Harrell off the bench.
