Daryl Morey's Position As Rockets' GM Not As Secure As In Past Nov 9, 2016 11:03 AM Leslie Alexander, owner of the Houston Rockets, assumed a larger role in the team-building process this past offseason. The Rockets signed Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson for a combined $33 million per year. Alexander was eager for the Rockets to rebound after a disappointing 15-16 season. The moves signaled Morey's position may not be quite as secure as it once was, league sources say. The Rockets fired Gianluca Pascucci, which was considered a shot across the bow at Morey. "Last year was disappointing," Morey told ESPN.com. "It's always uncomfortable in Houston. That's how it should be. I don't feel more or less pressure about my job than I ever have." -------------------------------------- We all had to see this coming with the D'Antoni hire. That was a clear break of Les prepping Morey for exit stage left in my opinion. Anytime the a GM is not being heard on coaching choice decisions, they are either a puppet(like Rick Smith) or on the way out. Book it, if Morey doesn't dramatically change the talent level via trade this season. I think he is out in the summer. If not this summer definitely summer of 18. He may get a reprieve to get Les thru the next round of free agency.
Nothing new. He is always on the hot seat. Dude weights about 20 stone of grease. Seat is bound to get real hot.
This is old news. Les said as much when he fired McHale and so did Morey himself Plus this is a duplicate thread of Lowe's article but with a click bait title. Will be a cool Internet/GARM experiment to see if the click bait thread, which leaves out Lowe's main topic of Harden, wins the day.
Oh contre! If MDA continues to win with this roster, despite it's obvious flaws, he will most definitely become GM, as well as coach! If you listen closely, he wants D-Mo and Gentile on the roster right now but Morey is blocking
"The moves signaled Morey's position may not be quite as secure as it once was, league sources say." Somebody in the league thinks it is....and this sucks to me because I love love Morey but the fact we are 29th in Defensive Efficiency so far is a serious failing.
It's also what cyberx reported a year ago, after the McHale firing. Sources: Morey is officially in the HOT seat -- by cyberx, Nov 18, 2015 I don't consider this new news around the GARM. Maybe Lowe just now found out
