Let's start with the first part: Why is he being successful?

I have only watched part of his games but he seems to be very careful.
He has a decent running game and his line does not seem to be too bad.

How did so many people miss on him? Was it a miss?
Why did he go in the 4th round?

I am not knighting him QB Supreme but he is doing ok . . .

Best O line in the game, just about any QB could look good behind it.

    It's more than that...
Dude hasn't thrown an interception yet.
For a rookie that's pretty impressive already.
    Makes good decisions
Stays in the pocket and has a good feel for pressure.

This. And he has a great running back. He's a game manager - doesn't have to win games with the passing game.

I will give him credit - he's done a nice job so far.

Ya I really liked Prescott and had him as the 3rd best QB prospect. But there was concern about him coming out of the Mullen/Urban offense. Think a lot of people compared him to Tebow which didn't help his stock.

Also, the DUI right before the draft dropped him a bit.

Really good O-Line, and has done a tremendous job of taking care of the ball.....great game manager...to begin his career.

ASIDE: So The main issue with the Texans is that we have not solidified. . .coached up . . . boistered our O-Line?

Yea a DUI will kill you. His play does not seem to indicate his draft position.
I had never heard of him

That's a really big part of it. Magically QB's look better and RB's look more dominant when the O line does their job.....when they don't do their job QB's look awful and RB's look hopeless.

Ezekiel Elliott has more yards before contact than some teams have total rushing yards. A truly dominant O line like Dallas has is one of the best things you can have right up there with an elite QB because an O line that's THAT good will make QB's look damn near elite if they are any good at all.

that o-line didn't help brandon weeden or matt cassel last season and it's basically the same.

i think garrett, linehan, and wilson deserve some credit for their coaching too.

Well that's where the "just about" part comes into play.

they had mcfadden who rushed for 1,300 yards

give the kid credit, and admit the texans dont know how to scout qbs.

lol carson wentz, and derek carr are playing with top 5 o-lines as well, nobody brings up their o-line trying to discredit their success

cam newton won mvp because of an easy easy schedule
russell wilson won a superbowl because of a great defense
rg3 won rookie of the year over luck because teams didnt know how to defend the read option
teddy bridgewater led the vikings to a nfc north title because of adrian peterson
dak prescott is winning because of the o-line
jameis winston is outperfoming marcus mariota because the bucs are more talented than the titans

always excuses when it comes to the black qb and why they have success

fun fact: the broncos drafted brock osweiler beacuse he was roomates with john elways grandson jack elway at arizona state. The texans are pathetic when it comes to picking qbs and i blame it mostly on bob mcnair , rick smith is just a figurehead to take the blame, all decision go through bob

Are you blind? I did give the guy credit in post 4 in this thread. (and don't refer to him as a "kid" - that's not respectful or pc)

He was getting a lot of pre draft hype.

I think the downsides were he doesn't have elite size and arm plus didn't play in a pro offense

But he's been brilliant. Super accurate, great at reading defenses, excellent leader, can run too

I miss having a guy who can read defenses. Brock can't. He looks far better than our 5th year QB already

Another in a long list of quality QBs we've passed up in the draft last few years
