USC-Utah ending was awesome. Down 27-24, Utah coach has 4th and 1 in field goal range at around the 25 with like 40 seconds left. Plays to win, so he goes for it on 4th instead of kicking the field goal. 2 plays later, they get a TD with 16 seconds left and win 31-27. That last drive was brutal for USC's defense, could not get a stop on multiple long 3rd downs. Gave up a few 4th down conversions as well.
The wheels are falling off Michigan State. They have gifted this game to Wisconsin with brutal turnovers.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Clay Helton is going to be a one-and-done as head coach at USC. Granted, none of their three early losses have been to teams that they should have manhandled, but they've already done a 180 on their QB situation, they looked completely outclassed against Alabama, didn't look much better against Stanford, and to top things off, you had that bizarre rumor about Helton getting punched by a player earlier this week. Even if it's not true (and all signs point to that being the case), I'm guessing there's a little fire to go along with all of that smoke. I was critical of the choice of Helton at the time. They rushed to pull the interim tag off of him last season rather than conduct an actual search when no one else was going to outbid them for Helton's services. I get that they probably did it in part out of fear of losing players to transfer or disrupting the incoming recruiting class, but if you hire the right guy (and there would have been plenty of interest in the job, I'm sure) that stuff tends to be forgotten and remedied pretty quickly.
What a spectacular meltdown by Florida. Just wow! From 21-17 to 31-21 in 4 plays. So much for their vaunted secondary (plus the awful INT). Making Josh Dobbs look like a superstar.
Is Brian Kelly losing his fastball at Notre Dame? Are injuries on defense the sole problem? Something ain't right. They had Duke down by a least a touchdown several times and just couldn't stop them. All 3 of their losses qualify at terrible. Meanwhile in Knoxville, UF won't forget this one for a very long time and for (the other) UT fans today will live forever.
How can you be so idiotic to fair catch a punt at the 1?* *Should note this is the second time he did it this game. Fumbled the first time
Max Redfield was thrown off the team. Devin Butler is suspended. Nick Watkins are Shaun Crawford are injured. They are all DBs. A friend of mine who is a mega-ND fan keeps me posted on them. I despise ND but listen to be polite.
And furthermore, on the second one, he tiptoed on the goal line to make sure he stayed at the one yard and didn't go into the end zone, almost like he was a member of the kicking team.
For someone who not only has been given the designation as an offensive genius, but has also shown flashes of actually being an offensive genius, Malzahn's offense has been absolutely putrid. Chances are, given the high expectations (and some might even say unrealistically high expectations) at Auburn, Malzahn would be on the outs regardless, but you cannot be an offense-minded head coach and field an offense this bad. Truthfully, it might have been easier for both LSU and Auburn if they had just put pro wrestling "loser leaves town" stipulations on this game with their respective head coaches.
Brian Kelly might be the most pathetic worthless pos coach i have heard listen too. So his defense has not had 1 sack in 4 games, they given up an average of 472 ypg and leads the nation in first downs given up. But this clown wants to place the teams struggles on sophomore qb deshone kizer wow. Kizer has put up 44 againist texas, won againist nevada, 28 againist michigan state, and then 35 today againist duke Brian Kelly is nothing but a lowdown_______ trying to lower kizer's draft stock
