True, but have to imagine the formula is pretty well spelled out in the contract, regarding what expenses are counted when and how they are accounted for -cash, accrual, whatever.

I think it's fair to assume that if the movie is a hit, she's in for a big payday.

That said, at least according to this site, her movies haven't been the HUGE mega box office payday as I would have otherwise thought.

    http://www.boxofficemojo.com/people...iferlawrence.htm&sort=gross&order=DESC&p=.htm

But I think those numbers are domestic only. I found an article that suggested Catching Fire also took in $400+ million internationally, topping $800 million overall.

Why have I researched all this? No idea.

Looks so incredibly boring. The actors are so boring. The dialogue is so boring. The graphics are so boring. The music is so corny. Honestly I'm amazed at how unimpressive it is.

It couldn't be any more boring than "The Martian".

I was thinking of movies, but yes -- he's quite funny on Parks and Rec.

Which reminds me, I forgot to say: and the story seems so boring too.

    There will be happy flashbacks.
Then sad flashbacks of a tragedy.
One wants to get to the destination, the other just wants to hibernate.
    They will ****.
    Then they will fight.
Another person is going to wake up at some point.
One will die and so will the rest of the people on board.
The other will be alone forever.

That's it, that's what's going to happen. Why would anyone watch this.

Man that movie sucked. Everyone was raving about it, I couldn't get through half of it. (and I like Matt Damon)

ive actually never seen it. i only know him from parks and recreation and he is by far the most unfunny character on that show.

he is slightly less irritating to me than jimmy fallon.

33 percent on rotten tomatoes. Biggest negative is the movie doesn't know what it wants to be

Definitely not for the latter. You won't find a bigger fan of the video game than me, but the movie looks absolutely terrible

Not surprised... when was the last time Sony released a great blockbuster film? It's been a while.

Even the preview looked odd. Like... is it "My Spaceflight with Andre"? or "Pacific Heights in Space"? or a pared down version of "Solaris"? Blech. Bad sci-fi is really the worst.

The trailers haven't done much to sell the movie. That usually isn't a good sign.

Look, I'm all for Jennifer Lawrence on the big screen and all, but this particular movie at less than an "R" doesn't get my attention. I hate to think so many people put a lot of work into something that might....if not "bomb" outright, well, at least land like a wet turd.
