So whats the deal with LMJ? Now Hinch questioning if Keuchal will pitch again this season? Not what you want to hear.

We had been pretty fortunate the last 2 years. Somehow the Rangers have overcome far worse than us.

Rangers seem to have more stones when it comes to making deals. I guess we hav been fortunate. I don't follow other teams injuries. I guess to me not having LMJ for a whole season load of work hurts as he is our number 2. Or at least has number 2 stuff

Their window is over come 2018. The Astros window is barely open.

Rangers have probably had worse, but far worse?

Darvish missed a season and Lance is out for the season. Yu's future is brighter than LMJ, IMO.

Astros should get a little credit for VV, too. Without injury, he'd likely still be here and performing.

I'm happy we don't have the Dodgers or Mets luck with injuries

A quality pitcher for christmas please.
I wonder how long Dallas has been playing through that, probably since early on.

Doubtful. If so, they shouldn't have been letting him go deep throwing 110 plus pitches on an almost routine basis.

Keuchel has been pitching pretty well over the last 3 months. Not Cy Young good, but much better than he was to start the year. 3 of his last 4 starts have been outstanding, so a current injury doesn't seem to explain his overall season arc.

This hurts, like I said he hasn't be ace good, but he's easily been our best starter since mid-June. When you compound that with who we're replacing him with, it's doubly tough.

It's ironic. He had a quality start a few weeks ago after which he said something like he's starting to feel right, that his regime was designed to peak in august/september. then he gets injured immediately afterwards.

Pitching-wise, the Rangers traded for the same pitcher we did - after we did. No stones necessary.

And since the trade deadline, BTW, Bregman is slashing: .315/.371/.569/.940. So the Astros added him, along with Gurriel three weeks later (.306/.333/.389/.722). They upgraded - and it cost them no prospects.

Sure it did. Bregman is no longer a prospect :)

This is why you don't trade away a guy like Feldman at the deadline, simply to save money

"simply to save money" is an opinion, though. I still see it as, get a prospect back for someone who's about to be a FA, who is pitching over his head at the moment, and who is redundant given guys like Hoyt (who everyone was clamoring for) for the short duty and Feliz/Devo for long.

Still think Devo or Feliz will get the Keuchel spot after this spot-start for Peacock, unless he lucks into a clean outing.

He has a 6.92 ERA with Toronto, including a loss to the Astros. He's been more valuable to the Astros as a Blue Jay, frankly...

Haha this is awesome. Great point! Poor guy, to lose to us the day he gets traded. Way to take one for the [former] team Feldman! That win just might get us into the playoffs!

Feldman was taking up a 25-man roster spot. Musgrove couldn't come up until there was a spot. Astros choose to trade Feldman so they could free up a spot to bring up someone they thought was better.
