I've hired a few CAD operators that came from ITT Tech. For the most part, they were pretty good, but one thing I noticed with all of them was if they were asked to deviate from the way they had learned how to do things, it was like trying to take a piece of candy from a fat kid. I'm not sure if stubbornness and arrogance was something that was actually taught there, but in my experience, it was something that they all came with. I haven't hired anyone from there in a few years, but it's not surprising that they're in trouble now. They overcharged their students like crazy.....especially when you compare their skill-set to somebody who went to a junior college for 2 years.
The only profit school thats worth it IMO a RN nursing degree. It's so competitive nowadays to get into the program I rather pay the 50k and skip the line.
I think the copycats that just popped up in the last 15 years have been stealing money via online education, these guys just got greedy and got in on the act. Unfortunately we have a glut of PhDs, not enough faculty roles to accommodate them and probably no real distinct professional roles that can't already go to MS/MA types in the same field, so a lot of them work for these places. This is probably one of the talking points that help their lobbyists shield them from regulation until now.
That's easily rectified by taking online BSN courses for a year. I guess it comes down to cost comparison.
Nah... Daytime talk and court shows are next. With the all out assault on for-profit-colleges and payday loans, there won't be much advertising dollars left for them. If there's ever a crack down on shady law firms, then network TV will have to go off the air after the morning news and not come back on until Live @ 5.
