Matt Schaub didn't show anybody but Kubiak that he was a franchise quarterback. What did he do in Atlanta that merit him a starting position here in Houston back then.

Good grief let it play out. Brock will be OK.

I agree they should play it out, but if savage outplays him he should start even with with a 37 million dollar contract.

    Savage is older than Brock.

There is a few mediocrity teams that have this same issue.

Denver is the only good team that has this issue. If Brock would've stayed. There would not be a quarterback controversy amongst fans.

What's funny is that in Houston there isn't a QB controversy except in the minds of a small group of fans that are knee jerking over a preseason game.

Schaub was much more proven though. He was always involved in trade rumors when sitting behind Vick

True. We are in uncharted territory here.

I know you aren't the brightest "Texans fan" around, but you do realize the Texans won their division last year.....right? I mean, they've won that division 3 out of the last 5 years even so saying that winning a single game is "uncharted territory" is a stupid statement even for you.

Some think we should have just made Mallet the permanent starter.

Too bad Bill Obrien was a big old meanie just because he couldnt operate an alarm clock

There were a lot of guys we could have drafted under Bill Obriens tenure.

Heck, even Paxton Lynch this year.

This signing (Osweiler) will make or break him with the Texans I think

People forget how important a quality backup quarterback is for NFL success. If Tom Savage is good enough to start, great. But Brock has proven himself, and earned his shot. Tom will likely use the next two seasons to prove he deserves a big contract too. If he doesn't take advantage of the opportunities, so be it.

It was good seeing Tom Savage play well. And to those who say it was 2nd and 3rd stringers, so what!!!! He played well when given a chance.

Truth. We need 2 good QBs. If Savage turns out to be the real deal we can either trade him or start him later depending on how Brock does

Sarcasm? Schaub was not more proven. He only had 2 career starts. It is true that a lot of NFL teams liked him and were interested in him, but he hadn't come close to proving anything.

It's not sarcasm, it's just that he knows very little about football, he can't do any better.

A lot of teams liked him and were interested in him that's what I'm saying.

The trade for him surprised no one. The big contract to Brock did.

I think the biggest surprise was that Brock was leaving Denver. People didn't expect that after Peyton retired.

Yup, it really surprised them that they were going to have to stop hailing him as the next great QB of Denver and have to start bashing him because he was the next QB for the Texans.

True, though we did offer more money.
