Add Ish Smith (3 yrs, $18m) to the list of young, cheap, quality PGs that Morey either doesn't bother to pursue, or can't close the deal on.

All he did was average 12.6pts/6.5Ast/4.0reb with a close to 15.0 PER.

Again, my point about Morey is proven correct year in and year out. he goes for big names and consistently loses out on cheaper, and in some cases, BETTER options.

Tired of this. Bring on the hate from the Morey Lovers, I don't care. EVery effing year I piss and moan about point guard play and it never changes. This stathead masquearding as a GM just does not see how important it is to have a competent PG on both ends of the floor in todays NBA.

He's a terrible shooter, not a good fit with Harden

    Hotballa is absolutely right.

We missed out on Ish Smith! ISH SMITH!

Certainly grounds for an outrage thread.

Why don't we see how Morey spends the money before we blast him for how he spent the money....

Do you anticipate Ish Smith getting a 24% usage rate as the Rockets point guard? Because that's why he put up those numbers, not because he's an actual NBA starter.

Beverley is the same age, cheaper, and better.

Ish would be an acceptable backup to Bev at that price, but it's hardly a tearjerker to miss out on him when the goal is to upgrade and let Beverley be the backup.

12.6pts/6.5apg/4.0rpg/14.90 PER sucks? When was the last time we had a PG that went anywhere near those numbers? You know who doesnt suck? Chris Paul, but we not getting him. You know who doesnt suck? Steph Curry, but we not getting him. You know who doesnt suck? Isaiah Thomas, but we not getting him. You know who doesn't suck? Damian Lillard, but we not getting him...

Losing out on Ish Smith does not deserve its own thread or any sort of mini-rant against Morey. It's Ish freakin' Smith. The Rockets are going after actual starter-quality guards right now and already have a quality backup PG in Beverley on the roster. Why in the hell do they need Ish Smith? Assuming the Rockets upgrade their starting back court, where would the guy even get minutes?

He played the majority of the time on the worst team in the league. His stats are inflated.
