People want tips everywhere nowadays. Today I went to a Baskin Robbins for the first time in 5 years and they were asking for tips!!!

The other day, I went to pick up some pizza from Domino's for my brother's birthday and when I paid with my card there was a tip option.

Yeah I usually tip 15-20% whenever there is an option for tips in the receipt. If they don't expect tips, usually you'd just receive the receipt.

I find it annoying that restaurants and bars make the service staff tip out other staff and subsidize their paychecks. I would assume a decent amount of people don't know what and think that whatever they tip goes entirely to the person. But nope.

When I used to wait tables and bartend over the years I calculated that I would tip out around $200 a month. Which would be $2400 a year.

What do you mean they were ASKING for tips? Did they have a tip jar? Or did they say "hey dude, are you going to tip me, or what".

Yea I hate when I go somewhere where I walk up to a counter to order my food and there is an option for a tip on the receipt. Just because you did your job doesn't mean you deserve a tip. You aren't a puppy who finally peed outside. Tips are for people that provide a service.

P.S I know this may make me sound like a grumpy old man towards tipping and I am definitely not. My wife and I are generous tippers in the right situations. I just agree that not everyone deserves a tip.

My step dad every year for 20-30 years now will give bottles of liquor to the trash guys every year. Decent liquor like Jack Daniels and I think a 1/5th. And he tells me they will always take everything haha

If you can afford 25 dollar haircuts, the assumption is that you can afford tip.

I see no reason to tip Domino's if I'm the one picking up the pizza.
