    http://nypost.com/2016/06/03/muhammad-ali-in-worse-shape-than-earlier-hospital-stays-insiders/

The boxing legend was hospitalized in Scottsdale, Ariz., for a respiratory issue on Thursday and sources familiar w the situation say that his loved ones are now rushing to his side because it appears his condition has worsened.

“He needs every bit of fight he’s got left to survive,” a source told the website. “Doctors are telling the family that it likely won’t be long until he passes away.”

Ali has suffered from Parkinson’s for three decades, most famously trembling badly while lighting the Olympic torch in 1996 in Atlanta. Despite the disease, he kept up a busy appearance schedule until recently, though he has not spoken in public for years.

Doctors say the Parkinson’s likely was caused by the thousands of punches Ali took during a career in which he traveled the world for big fights.

An iconic figure who at one point was perhaps the most recognized person in the world, Ali has lived quietly in the Phoenix area with his fourth wife, Lonnie, whom he married in 1986.

Don't worry. He's a so called "moderate" Muslim and deserved to live the later part of his life in fear:

Take it to the proper forum and stop trying to score political points when a sports icon and possibly the most important living athlete of the 20th century is very ill and possibly dying.

    Shame on you.

They'll be here soon enough. Ali spent his life fighting in and out of the ring. He's a titan because he didn't "stick to sports" like so many today are admonished when they dare have an opinion about anything other than games.

    This is the proper forum.

Trying to say Ali was just relevant due to his Sports' achievements is egregiously underselling the man's achievements, contributions, and activism.

When we have members on this forum who have a disgusting thought process like FTW, that's a gigantic disrespect to people like Muhammad Ali.

Shame on you for trying to suppress that notion.

The discussion is about Ali being placed on life support.

If you want to start a thread about another poster in the past calling out a muslim or muslims in a a different tread and at an earlier date; start a thread about it.

This isn't a garbage dump thread where you can throw something not even related into the mix.

This thread is in the D&D.

If you don't wish to debate or discuss anything, there's a thread in the hangout about the same topic. I suggest you go there.

Yeah... except FTW didn't mention Ali in his post.... he didn't mention boxing... he didn't mention or discuss Ali as an icon, social reformer or say anything about Ali.

Rather you dug up a post from 7 months ago and decided to dump it into a thread about Ali being on life support.

If you want to make a thread about FTW being a bigot or an *******, knock yourself out, just don't use the possible passing of an American icon as a vehicle to express your political opinion.

Very sad to hear this about Ali.

One of my all-time childhood heroes who transcended sports.

    Ali was unique and special.

I think a lot of times that younger people don't realize just how large he was in so many ways. He is arguably the greatest heavy weight boxer ever, he made a number of social stands that were controversial at the time, he was just very "American" and from an era of great turmoil and change.

I hope he survives, he is only in his mid 70's.

    Yeah...except he did indirectly.

That thought process is all too pervasive on this board. Ali himself was an outspoken guy at expressing his "political opinion" unfiltered.

The connection is there. You can choose to ignore Ali's life outside the wrong. That's on you. Again, there's a thread in the hangout about this same topic if you don't wish to debate or discuss anything.

a sports icon, a personal hero and a hero to many... He was a radical. with radical views, at a time when radical change was occurring. the things he said were outlandish, the establishment hated him because what he said shook their belief system. maybe the most hated sports icon ever. he had his title and prime years stripped from him because of his beliefs. he was the greatest heavyweight of all time. a rare and exceptional talent.

Ali is a radical who shook up the world in the mainstream during boxing's golden years. No athlete has ever been as controversial as Ali.

    We love you.

Ali was the greatest. I actually had a Mohammad Ali action figure when I was a very tiny kid.

    Very sad.

I know someone that has a relative that is close to him. The person I know has met him a few times. I guess he's a really nice guy, that stayed a flirtatious ladies man, even in his decline.

    Respect to a legend.
