Apparently, something is cooking long before Joerger was fired. I have a solid argument by a guy who works in the human resources department.

    we have our next coach?

He's the best of the mediocre-potential coaches. Still, I hope the Rockets are thinking bigger. Joerger might very well be creative on offense, but he has not shown any worthwhile offensive coaching.

Joerger has wanted out of Memphis for two seasons. He forced Memphis to let him go by looking for other jobs. He and the GM (Wallace) do not like each other. Joerger was told he had zero say on the draft or free agency. He wasn't even told of the Grizzlies plans.

The Rockets interviewed Joerger and Vogel when they hired McHale. Joerger will probably end up in Houston or Sacramento.

Mediocre based on what? The Grizz this year had almost 10 more wins than their advanced stats showed they should have had. He has dealt with extensive injuries and has never lost the locker room.

So unprofessional if true. He's doing it to memphis, he'd do it Houston.

If this guy was black, this forum would kill this guys credibility but of course ppl are excited. Garbage.

Yeah, you could say the same about McHale. That's still mediocre potential, although he has gotten more out of his players within a short 2-3 year window - but that's still a dime a dozen coaching quality.

Is Dave Joerger going to out coach the top coaches in the NBA and develop better habits and skills in his players, keep his offense ahead of the pack, keep his defense up to date, understand the mind of the franchise cornerstones for most of the next 10 years?

Memphis was paying him $2M/yr, good coaches today is getting paid $6M/yr.

He won 56 games last year, made playoffs this year despite injuries and Memphis did not engage in talks about a raise.

Suppose you were doing a good job, the market value for somebody of your caliber was three times what you were making. Would you not look elsewhere?

Can you blame him for looking elsewhere?

Should we look at Chalmers if we can't land Conley?
