Not surprised that he was fired
Never the right choice to be hired
His Wisconsin roots were never admired
    And his commentary never inspired
More often than not he misfired
    His lame rhyming eventually backfired
And all his audience became tired
I hope he is now back home happily retired

"I'm a good dude" sounds like he was let go for cause. No other reason to say that.

real talk, from what i know joel blank is a really good dude and his contribution to the organization went beyond radio commentary. he was with them long before he started doing the radio.

He was their radio pre/halftime/post game guy. He also did color at home games. The rockets don't have a color guy that travels on the road. Given the rockets are one of the most profitable teams in the NBA they are pretty cheap for not having a color guy on the radio. He is like calvin and kevin on the TV broadcasts.

    Thanks.

That being the case, I'm assuming his firing/whatever was a result of something more serious than lame rhymes.

Joel is just he most recent victim of the Front Office carnage. At some point they'll have to fire their guns at each other. I'll miss Joel, as I thought he was one of the few guys not buying in to the pre-stocked company lines.

had no idea there were people here that liked Blank. Ackerman is awesome but I always hated Joel's commentary. He never added anything and he ruined the flow of the broadcast.
