What happened to Joel Blank?

ah ok, didn't know about that..

I do remember Blank sort of got into it on Twitter a couple weeks ago because people were saying his tweets were boring or something like that. Nothing too crazy, but he was replying back, seemed like it got to him. Probably unrelated though..

 

I agree. We need more rockets homers like Bullard and Drexler to tell everyone how the rockets can't get a break.

So does anybody know the story of what happened to Joel Blank?

People here have said he was fired. Is that true?

If true... why?

He was fired because his lame rhyming got everyone tired.

His halftime shtick was old, dumb and tired,
I cannot believe it took this long for him to be fired.

I didn't want to believe the rumor,
can the season take any more awkward turns?
for one I appreciated the rhyme humor
hooked up with an instagram model, ouch it burns.

 

I would have fired him for that (or never hired him in the first place). The Rockets obviously fired him for a different reason, as we've had rhyming highlights for years.

 

Of course he was not fired,
a long time after he was hired
They gave him the chance to resign
And he agreed to give notice just in time.
