One punch! I think Conor got concussed by that Diaz punch. Really affected his accuracy and defense. Got desperate and went for that take down.
I'll give up McGregor a lot of ups for having the balls to move up (GSP too p***y never did to avoid Silva). I think Dos Anjos would've mauled him at 155 though. Dos Anjos dominated Diaz on the feet and on the ground not too long ago. I bet RDA is kicking himself for pulling out and not having the shine of beaten him.
He tried the silva dance with hands down champ move.....along with moving up to the big leagues, it was game over
It was a move that took guts. And he was handling Diaz until he got too cocky and opened his defense. Diaz put his hands in that classic Gracie hands-on-the-head defense as the ****s he was taking added up. But Connor let too many shots in and it only takes one perfect punch. Much respect as Connor was out on his feet. He tried to hang in there but signed his warrant when he took Diaz to the ground. Rear naked choke and B/GJJ jiu-jitsu won this night.
Size and length are deadly weapons in the MMA game. McGregor is a banshee at 145, but 170 is conceding entirely too much weight
Lol yeah, even if the weight difference was too much for him he looked arrogant in the fight. Talking trash, putting his head out there at the start to dodge punches. Looked very Silva-like... Any ways, have to give him credit for trying it, taking the fight on short notice, all of that. Big reason why the UFC goes so well, can't dodge tough fights.
Lol yeah, Diaz took all the glory But then again I think Diaz is the best boxer in the division, I don't think anyone can straight up box with him RDA beat him in the standup utilizing leg kicks and threatening takedowns.
I think any of those clean punches he landed would've knocked out nearly everyone at featherweight but the power diminishes greatly 2 weight classes up. Coupled that with Nate's great chin and McGregor couldn't sustain the energy throwing power punch over punch. Should've played it more technical.
