Last year was a great step forward. This year we've unfortunately learned a few things. The Rockets have absolutely no long term vision. The culture surrounding this organization has been a mess. Dwight's unhappy, James coming in camp fat claiming he's the best player in the league, McHale not having a clue when having to actually "coach" the team etc...You have guys like Jason Terry yelling the chemistry sucks in the press conference. JB out here benching players that actually help us win.

But with all that, today should've been the day we got everything back on track. Daryl Morey was supposed to correct his mistakes and right his wrongs. But what did he do? He trades our best bench player in Thornton, and most skilled bigman for a draft pick & Joel Anthony (who??????). This basically means he's given up on the season. The Rockets will eventually draft a nobody who fits none of the team needs, and we'll be back in the 9th seed for years to come. Morey's created this mess of a culture and will be the reason Harden leaves Houston.....

Harden will get the MAX with no state income tax. I highly doubt he leaves

He doesn't have to pay state income tax when play in Dallas, San Antonio, Orlando, Miami, Memphis

there is absolutely no way you can correct "mistakes" in one day. If JH leaves that's all on him. This team was built around him from day 1. If he leaves it just means he realizes he can't be the best player on a team that can win a title. so if that happens who cares

We made negative, cheapskate moves. That's worse than just not making any big moves.

Even if Durant was predisposed to wanting to play with Harden, would he want to head to yet another team with a cheapskate owner? I have my doubts.

I really don't see him going to LA.

-Cant sign for as much money
    -Taxes
-He is already getting endorsements here
-I really don't see him wanting to live up to Kobe's legacy.

Harden will go to Dallas and then CF will implode.

So if he goes to LA that would be 8 times a year vs 55-60 games of not paying. That is a big difference.

I'm not happy they traded away their only other scorer off the ball in Thorton (Lawson has been a joke this season) , but DMo was useless for us over on the bench wasting space!! Sorry he has been injured well over a year now and was not giving Houston much help. Why not get something for him?

Need a coach who can handle the rotations and personalities on this team, I thought McHale was that guy albeit more on the player's coach side then stearn (Jeff Van Gundy side)...

    Harden will be locked up!!

I don't know if it will be Morey fault, but I do think Harden will be the Lakers next star.

But isn't Morey the reason Harden is here in the first place?

You do realize they set themselves up to offer TWO max deals this summer, right? No vision for the future, huh? It would have been idiotic to go all in to limp into and through the playoffs and come up short again. This team didn't just need tweaks..it needed another star AND tweaks.

If anything, Harden is on board with this because he thinks he can recruit KD and someone else.

Yeah, it sucks but the best course of action is to get as much as you can for Harden. Get rid of Morey and give a new gm with an actual direction a chance to build a new young team.

Do you think Harden is all about the money? If yes, then we have a decent chance to resign him. If there are other factors like market size, celebrities, fame, championship aspirations, then he possibly leaves.

Up to this point it doesn't seem like he has a strong preference to play here... no teammates he really likes playing with... and no strong ties to the organization or community.

Lmao. You think a max player would wanna sign here? Yea you created cap space, but the negative perception of this organization will run player away. Morey's already seen as arrogant around the league. Rumors are guys don't wanna play with Harden. Add in the fact we have no coach or system players can look forward to playing in. This post is delusional
