"The Pelicans are "pushing hard" to trade Ryan Anderson before the deadline. The Pelicans don't expect to be able to keep him in free agency this summer, so they risk losing him for nothing unless he is traded by Thursday. New Orleans did have serious talks with Detroit regarding the forward, but they went with Tobias Harris instead." *In his fourth season since being taken 21st in the 2008 draft out of California, Anderson started 61 of 66 games during the shortened regular season and led the league in 3-pointers made (166) and attempted (422). *Ryan Anderson was the winner of the 2011-12 Kia NBA Most Improved Player Award.
The downside: Ryan Anderson is a turn style on defense, has regressed as a scorer, and has been frequently injured as of late. I don't think it's the wrong move, I'd just like to present the entire argument. He's probably an improvement over anything we've been able to muster at the 4 this season.
you guys gotta get the **** off anderson's dick. for years i been seeing the same **** with this guy. all o, no d, bad rebounder for a big.. he'll fit right in here. and not a proven playoff player, so thats a bonus. what else, INJURY PRONE! PERFECT FIT! dont say he torches the rockets. everyone does. even superstar maurice harkless..or at least he played like a superstar against us.
Ryan Anderson -> Excellent 3 pt and FT shooter, great floor spacer, lackluster rebounder, lacks intangibles, poor defense (due to skill) Thaddeus Young -> Athletic and good finisher, good intangibles, good rebounder, no 3 pt shot and bad FT shooter, only okay defense for position (due to size) I would usually prefer Young because he seems to do things on the court that don't show up on the box score and he knows his role. I worry that he is too similar to Jones and I really just want to move on from him. Ryan Anderson on the other hand would be a nice change of pace at PF but I've noticed he tends to get carried away and take bad shots at times (remember that stupid fadaway jumper he took at the end of the last game against us that we barely won?). I'm torn.
We have one of the worst defenses in the league already and that's with a collection of players who are (or were) considered defensive specialists. Might as well get RA if we are going to shoot 35+ threes a game - could even hit some of them. The threat alone might improve our defense.
Problem is Young's 4-year contract. Morey wants to maintain cap flexibility to pursue Durant this summer.
no he hasn't, averaging 16.7ppg this season, up from 13.7ppg last season been around that 16ppg mark the last 5 years
Anderson is a fat chucker which plays literally zero D, can't pass, can't rebound, can't run and is goin to get paid but some scrubby team like Phoenix, DO NOT WANT, stay away Daryl, you know well xD
I would do Brewer for Anderson and bring Anderson off the bench. It would be a rental, but maybe it makes us a wildcard as a lower playoff seed who knows. Also, I just want to get rid of Brewer's contract and force JB to play Thornton or McDaniels. Anderson is flawed but it's fine for a bench player. Between him, Josh and a recovering D-Mo we'd be decent at PF the rest of the way.
DMO is not Ryan Anderson, lol. DMO may be a better player, but he will never be the shooter that Anderson is, even if the statistics show them with similar numbers. Anderson is a pure shooter at the 4. DMO can't just pull up and knock down a 3, he needs to be set. Ryan Anderson is an outstanding shooter. I'd love to have him just to see what the offense looks like with a pure shooter on the floor. We still haven't had a pure shooter on this team.
If we could get Ryan Anderson and MCW I would give us a high percentage chance to make it past the first round in the playoffs, possibly even WCF if we aren't on GS's side of the bracket
Would be ideal. I know the defense has sucked but Anderson is the 4 this team has needed since we landed Dwight.
I'd rather see Anderson and Motiejunas on the floor rather then Anderson and Dwight. Get Dwight out of here already. He kills the spacing for one James Harden.
