How come when we were winning this time last year, NOBODY in the mainstream media paid any attention to us. No fairytale articles on Dwight being unhappy. No Harden hoopla about being "aloof". Basically the media forgot we existed and even did this AFTER we made the WCF. We barely made the news. But come this year.......Our season has CLEARLY started poorly (However, 12-14 is still very attainable) yet it seems the media is ALL OVER US. Dwight's in the news every other day. Harden's name is everywhere. The media is reporting nonsense every other day. It just seems like a whole cloud of negativity is around our organization when we were winning they wanted nothing to do with us. You see where I'm getting at? Why is it we have to start off 12-14 to get Houston Rockets headlines in the news? Why is it the only time Dwight Howard's name is mentioned is when McHale gets fired or when Kobe's in town? I recall 2 PLAYOFFS IN A ROW Dwight played great for us and wasn't mentioned on Worst Take once during that. If we turned it around and got back on track, could you see headlines reading "Dwight brings young Rockets back!"? Um, hell no. So with that said, the sports media is FULL OF CRAP! Only Rocket headlines we see are about Rockets losing, Dwight failing or Harden's relationship with OJ's daughter. If we start winning will we get this much press????

It does matter. We all know the mainstream media is bad but damn smh. They didn't even mention the Rockets till we beat Dallas in the playoffs last year. We were 2nd seed!!!! My have times changed
Simple. We had decent success last season so media took note of that. Success breeds attention and hatred. Before last season we were mediocre for a long time so no one gave a F This year we have sucked so far and media will be all over it trying to prove last season was a fluke. And so far they are right. We have been truly pathetic starting from pre-season to now.
You're right to an extent. Last season we got no respect, Harden especially for what he did for this club. Making the conference finals was more than anyone expected. Entering this season though we earned some love from people who mattered, and we were getting recognition as title favourites from everyone from Zach Lowe and Bball Breakdown to Bill Simmons etc. We were even being pencilled in as favourites to have the best record in the league. Then this season happened. Any goodwill we built and respect we earned has been undone with terrible play, bad defense and laziness. We just have to win. People who know basketball will come back around.
