There is nothing inherently wrong with being a player only fan. Strutting or projecting your player only fanhood on a team fan forum however IS wrong. This is where a lot of LoF's and really any other player only fan gets into trouble. I could care less if someone only likes Lin as long as they keep it to themselves. I definitely don't want to see on of those assholes talk about how Lin is being mistreated when we are winning or how well Lin is doing when the team is losing. When someone crosses that line, they need to GTFO and never come back.

I would have to disagree with this. They can be as non-objective or stupid as they want. It honestly doesn't bother me that they think that way as long as they keep it to themselves and out of CF. I would daresay that most would probably agree with that sentiment. When that sort of zealous idiocy carries over to CF though, that's a problem. Granted, if they were intelligent and objective, it would definitely be a lot more tolerable, but still unwanted.

People become a fan of team due to all kind of reasons. I become Michael Jordan 's fan then start to like Chicago Bull. I become Rocket Fan when Chicago Bull play against Houston Rocket. Hakeem Olajuwon was pure amazing and a phenomenal player. Rockets Dominating the NBA after the 1st Jordan Era and I start following Rockets. It is not necessary to become a Rocket Fan just because you reside in Houston. I am near Sacramento and Bay area but I do not like King and hate Warriors even their current win streaks. I can only say that you are lucky Rocket Fan if you happen to live in Houston also.
