I'll be in San Diego for a week. Any recommendations for quality Asian that I can't get in Houston much appreciated.

Any Asian Cuisine and any price range.

You can get Asians near the gaslamp district.

They have a huge Filipino population, so if you want something different I'd try that. It's been a couple of years, but I want to say National City is the area of town.

There's also Convoy (Conway?) street, which is kind of like Bellaire in Houston, tons of restaurants and strip malls.

-OB noodle house in ocean beach, the line gets crazy

-On Convoy , Phuong Trang restaurant has some great pho. I love pho after surfing in the freezing ocean water.

How about ramen? It's better in the west coast than in Houston.

Check out Tajima Ramen. Opens late on thursday-saturday night for the folks who just came back from a bender.

There's a lot of good sushi bars out there too. Have fun!

OB Noodle House in Ocean Beach. Good Pho.

Speaking of Sichuan in Houston - has anyone tried Cooking Girl, the relatively new place on Fairview? Better than Mala in my opinion - so delicious.

I'd find one day when I could head north a bit towards Little Saigon, and I've have a big serving of Banh Mi Bo Kho at Le Croissant Dore, then I'd head over to tomgirl baking company for a piece of their German chocolate cake. Maybe walk along the beach and/or pier in Huntington Beach, and then maybe stop at Tan Cang Newport Seafood for the house style lobster.

OB Noodle House and their sister restaurant down the street, Bar 1502. Bar 1502 is usually easier to get into. They both have excellent beer lists as well. Kaito Sushi in Encinitas is good. Bangkok Bay in Solana beach has good Thai Food. Tajima Ramen House on Convoy is good. There are also a bunch of other good Asian places within a mile of Tajima.
