All in all. This season for the Irish has been a success with all the injuries they had to deal with. Nothing to ashamed of.
I despise ND but that was a really tough loss. I thought Brian Kelly made a mistake calling the TO with 35 seconds left and 1st and goal from the 2 yard-line considering they had 2 more remaining. I was thinking he should have run it down to about 20-25 seconds.
Their final score shouldn't have counted anyway. Maybe they could run more clock if the refs didn't try to hand them the game.
So what if Florida beats Alabama next week? What if Clemson loses to UNC? What do you do with a one loss Iowa team if it is a close game? Any chance Stanford slips in? Should make for a fun weekend of football.
A 1-loss Iowa is out no matter what. They don't have a win over a ranked team. A 2-loss Stanford or 1-loss OSU both deserve to get in over them. Florida seems out even if they win the SEC simply because of how bad they've looked all season. OU, B10, and ACC champs seem like locks, but the 4th spot could be a lot of people if Alabama loses. Clemson (even with a loss), Stanford, and Ohio State all still seem to be alive.
As someone with a good futures bet on Clemson, UNC scares the crap out of me. They didn't win by 3 touchdowns last week because they turned it over on a botched hand-off up 14, driving towards a td with 4 minutes left, which lead to a series of unlikely events. ACC title game has the makings of a shootout.
This is making rounds. Shoutout to bigtexxx <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9pstUq2disg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
If Clemson doesn't turn the ball over and go completely unconscious after getting a lead, they should handle UNC. The problem is those are two very big ifs for Clemson. Their focus and concentration issues amaze me.
Sumlin is 1-7 vs Bama & LSU. Not good at all, very disappointing not to even beat LSU once in these four years.
If we were going to beat LSU, this would have been the year. They're a mess. At some point, you have to win a game you aren't expected to win, and we've only had one of those in the past few years. While I'm totally with you in saying that next year really is the year of reckoning for Sumlin, I'm still pretty disappointed with how we closed out the season. We've looked bad far more often than we've looked good.
