I think the main issue people are having is we are running the exact same offense. If they bring in Thibs you can guarantee this current offense isn't going to be here any more. Thibs will not run this offense.

Can you just imagine Morey getting to tell JB that they've decided against giving him the rest of the season like they said they would.

What do you propose we do with the offense?? Have Capela shoot 15 footers???? What exactly should we be doing??

I am proposing we've got to get different players. And we've got to play different players on this current roster in different combinations than what we've been doing. And we've got to fix the defense first before we do anything else offensively.

Our problems are personnel problems, not offensive system problems. If you have some other suggestion for the offense lay it out here.

Phil Jackson was court side with Les last game. Hakeem and Jordan were also there.

No I'm obviously not suggesting Capel take 15 footers. How about we make the simple change with our 3pt shooting. We are not a good 3pt shooting team yet we still take 30 shots a game that's just not smart. We need Morey to take a back seat and just be a GM and bring in a coach who will utilize what he has on the roster. Attack the paint and use the midrange it seems to be what the majority of our players do best yet we have them mostly jacking 3s

What players are out there exactly that fit this roster? Not only do they have to buy in to the system, they have to be able to mesh with diva Harden for more than a season.

I love that the perception is that the Rockets roster is garbage, yet we're going to get some quality players by trading the garbage away.

There's probably teams out there that know the players aren't playing well because of out of rhythm shots, sheer volume of shots, bad chemistry, not believing in the system, bad combinations etc.

Morey is going to get fleeced this time.

We're not a good shooting team full stop, it's been my biggest criticism of Morey, because shooting became such a premium, he's tried to "save" by gettign guys cheaper who aren't good shooters, meanwhile the value of shooting has just been going up. The stuff he has bought has devalued whereas the stuff he thought was over valued, is now even more valuable.

    Midrange??? Absolutely not.

Attack the paint??? Absolutely. Throw it up to the big fella and let him throw it down. Gotta make that happen and it's so simple to do.

That would be a blessing, b/c this "offense" is a stagnant, wasted-movement, lack of intention, predictable, imagination-lacking, poor and shameful offense.

If Morey wants his ****** saved he needs to hire Thibs. Dumbass is stubborn with his cookie cutter offense. Cant wait till he's gone so he can take his Charles Manson Cult with him.

I love so much that people don't realize the offense is taking 3's because that's what the other team's defensive schemes are giving us now.. Did you see how they treated the wings minus Harden last game? They are packing the interior and letting us shoot threes. Basketballholic is right about getting new players, because you won't open up the interior defense by simply running more UCLA cuts off a different action. Pros won't give up easy buckets to non-shooters.

IMO, Morey is to blame for putting together a team of individuals that can't play D or make 3's.

There are literally hundreds of offensive systems that would make our attack much more lethal and less predicatable.

Endless variations of Flex, Princeton, Triangle come to mind.

Thibs had Richard Hamilton running off of screens to get open shots in Chicago. I would love to see him utilize Harden in that same fashion rather than the non-stop hero ball (if he came to Houston).

    You are correct, sir.

I would like to see Thibs here but this would not bode well for Daryl.

Power needs to be taken from Morey. We need a real coach with a real offensive system here. Not this gimmick crap

These players won't do any better running those offenses, which will take at least 2 seasons to learn anyways. And Dwight, Capela, and Terrence are absolutely terrible fits for those offenses which require a big functioning in the high post with ball skills.

    Be reasonable.
