...from the beginning, Donald Trump was only interested in how much money he could get from posing as a presidential candidate. He got marked in his own con there (major no-no for a conman), but again: better be careful when you go around digging holes to bury people in (like Barack Obama)...because you're likely to end up in that hole yourself. --mdrowe00

Interested in the Texans season tickets. Would you do $1500 for the pair?

...I've believed almost from the beginning that the Donald had no intention of winning the election. Not his fault, in a strange way...but being a mark in his own con is a new low, even for him. --mdrowe00

...where I'm from, that's called picking a fight and complaining about getting hit. Those people tend to not be good fighters anyway...but I admit that beating up on them offered a perverse sort of satisfaction. --mdrowe00

...like most of these "revelations" about public figures, everybody is mostly fine with their "oddities" until they become public, or whatever offended party finally says something and it starts to cost people money. --mdrowe00

...yeah. "Mental Illness" is the new vogue "term" or corner for people like this to hide in or behind. Call it whatever you want (indoctrination, brainwashing, desperation, nationalism, et al)—these people know exactly what they're doing. Vicious contempt does not equate to debilitating cognitive reasoning impairment. --mdrowe00

They run behind any issue they can find instead of confronting the truth. That White Supremacy is on the rise and that it is too easy for people to get guns. So "Mental Illness" and "Video Games" are easy to blame.

You're right...the children at Sandy Hook were exactly who something like that WASN'T supposed to happen to...and our government did nothing and citizens make idiotic excuses...mdrowe00

Got you by 10. And I’m much younger than my back! Sure, remember ‘65 season. Freshman in college. Even remember seeing Calvin at MSG! (‘66 IIRC?)

That's so awesome. Me not being the oldest, that is. :)

I started following basketball when the Rockets moved to Houston in 1971, though I do remember watching a few UH/Elvin games and was definitely aware of Lew Alcindor's UCLA teams. I used to play on my driveway pretending I was Calvin. In reality, he's a bit taller.

Calvin and Kareem and I are the same age (as well as the same height, averaging all three). In '65 I was listening to Marv Albert do the Knicks games; often went to MSG for Knicks/NBA DOUBLEHEADERS and NYU games (often v top teams). My son is a big hoops fan and he is raising my grandson properly - - loves Harden, throws trash down in the bin yelling, 'I Capela'd it!'

You remember the '65 NCAA season? I just turned 62 and thought I might be the oldest guy on CF, but it would appear you've got me beat. :)

...also couldn't hurt to do something about the Patriot Act. It's had some of its more "controversial" provisions expire or struck down judicially, and seeing as how we REALLY need to overhaul not just constitutional precedents wrt federal elections , but cyber-defense as a nation, might not be a better time to take a look at it...mdrowe00
