Wow, that could have been a whole lot worse. Nothing more frustrating than a pitcher who can't find the plate.
Bats feel like they may be inept tonight. We have a very weird approach. Astros like to watch that first fastball down the middle, and then swing at out of zone pitches.
Based on what? First off he isn't a thirdbaseman anymore. He plays 1st and DH's and like I said 5-6 weeks ago, they want to try him behind the plate because of his body type. What leads you to the conclusion he won't ever hit 300/400 at the big league level? He has a short swing that results in line drives. He doesn't strikeout much and has an exceptional eye. He works the count to his advantage as well. He has made adjustments at every level and has a small strike zone. The only reason to not think he will do really well is because he wasn't a top prospect coming out of college. Scouts are wrong sometimes. It is also telling that the Astros didn't move him at the deadline. He has his physical limitations.... Squat, slow, poor fielder... But he has always hit and has gotten better at each level. People said Altuve wouldn't make it either, same with Dallas K.
Can't wait until Springer comes back so Marisnick can go back to being mainly a late inning defensive replacement.
