Not even that. Papa will probably get waived, and they essentially traded up from the early part of the 2017 2nd round to the end of the 2016 1st. When you take out all the salary filler, this is what the trade looks like: Lawson + 2017 2nd (unprotected) for Nick Johnson + 2016 1st (lottery protected) + $440k cash
Man! That's just crazy! Waiving Dorsey is a signal to the Nuggets fans (all three of them) that the team is tanking the season. (dramatic pause) :grin:BUWAHAHA:grin:snort giggle:grin:AHA AHA:grin:
Galatasaray is great football club but basketball? This will be good for them. The Turkish league lacks bigs who can vacuum rebounds and slam it. Exciting sign for turkey... A bargain price too. His money will go far too in Turkey. He will be a local celebrity playing for galatasaray. Thanks for all of the basketball Joey. Best of luck with your new red and yellow.
Crazy how good Morey is. Houston Receives: - Top 10 Point Guard - High 2nd Rd Pick Denver Receives: - Prigioni (waived) - Papanikolao (waived) - Dorsey (waived) - Johnson - Low 1st Rd. Pick - A couple of bucks (Rex) Bow to your sensei, BOW TO YOUR SENSEI!
That salary filler was actually a lot of cost savings for Denver which was clearly their motivation in doing the deal. Saved Pap and Prig's non-guaranteed amounts and the $10 mil owed to Lawson next year.
Desperate times/desperate measures... We had a super huge unknown in Clint Capela... Now we know Clint's real value. Joey gave this team minutes, especially when Dwight went down. The dude who was expected to be a garbage time center gave us that.
I think we all knew when we did the deal that the point of including Prig, Dorsey, and Papa was to give them contracts they could waive without keeping a burden beyond this season. It's not like they were hoping for big things from Dorsey and then become disillusioned during training camp. They wanted to unload Lawson, get a couple of young cheap assets, and cap relief. They hit those three marks. You can perhaps say they should have gotten more or better young cheap assets, but apparently the market wasn't offering. As for declaring victory on the deal, we probably won, but I'll wait until Lawson hits the court before saying.
Denver gets - Johnson,1stroundpick,possibly cap space if they waive kpap, and minor cash Houston gets top 10 pg Second round pick If u come to think about it if nick reaches his potential that 1stround pick becomes top 25 and they waive pap and all others they waived will probably give them 6 mil in cap space its not so bad after all even tho we still won
