It's like saying you want Schaub over Mallett because Mallett is a relative unknown.....why would we want known bad over potentially good?
Not really the same. Ryan Mallet had literally never played. Ben Jones has played a lot and played poorly.
How can you judge whether an O-lineman is getting it done or not during OTA's? You don't even have pads on yet.
We should just figure out a way to sign Evan Mathis...then bring Myers back on the cheap. I wish money grew on trees.

The NFL is ruthless...amazing how quickly your career ends when you get just a little bit older. It's not like Myers was the worst C in the league last season...he was an average guy and now nobody wants him on their team. Crazy.
It really is bizarre. I suppose maybe all he could get was interest from teams that would bring him on cheap as a backup. Maybe he wasn't interested in that. Hard to imagine NO ONE even talked to him.
I find it hard to believe that NO TEAM wanted him. Maybe he was being picky. There are far worse O-linemen that are on rosters right now.
I bet you do. I don't though, he was pretty bad last year and the market for a 34 year old declining, small, cut blocking center is not that great.
This guy! smh https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/02/25/pffs-2015-top-75-free-agents/ Still ranked pretty high among free agents just a few months ago.
Held in such high regard that he hasn't even gotten a tryout. He peaked in 2011 and has been on the decline ever since....and now he's coming off missing an entire year because of domestic violence. If the kid could play, someone would have picked him up by now.
