The same punishment you and everyone of your neighbors face for the illegal land grabs and occupation that was taken from the Native Americans.

This is probably a fair comparison. One side is powerful and the other doesn't stand much of a chance.

But, does two wrong make a right apply here? Nay, no it doesn't.

How about, we used to do it hundred of years ago, so it's ok now? No, that would mean we are ok with many of the extremists Muslim behaviors that we used to do hundred of years ago. I don't think we are ok with that.

But maybe some of us are selectively ok with such behavior just because...?

the argument: Look at what the Europeans did to native Americans so why can't the Euro Jews take over Palestine is probably the best defense of Zionism. However, this is not the 16th or 17th Century and that type of behavior just isn't viewed the same.

Time for a modern democratic state in Palestine that treats all Jews, Christians, Muslims the same.

Western countries with German ethnic pluralities are not asking Jewish questions anytime soon.

Im not sure if you're being serious. Are you stating that its been a couple hundred years since any country's boundaries have been changed or countries been conquered? Anytime a boundary is changed, almost always blood is involved and someone is at a loss. Where is your outrage for this?

Don't act like this is something out of the ordinary. If the liberals didnt hate the jews so much, nobody would blink an eye with what is going on over there.

And if the conservatives didn't believe Jesus will rise from the dead and suck them all into heaven because all the Jews settle in Israel, they wouldn't be constantly nutt-hugging Israel and have motive to not want any Arabs in the region.

Israelis acting like Palestinians? What's the world coming to?

In all seriousness though, the two deserve each other.

BTW it is you who brought up American treatment of Native Americans as sort of a defense of the seizure of Palestine by European Jews.

As far folks travelling far to conquer and settle in far away lands, since WW II and probably post WW I it is very out of the ordinary. I suppose you could perhaps point to Russia, but even there the Russians did not than try to create their own country in another's land and displace and deprive the local folks of their rights.

You are equating distaste for Zionism as being anti-semitic, an increasingly discredited tactic for deflecting criticism of Zionism and the horrid treatment of the Palestinians. Sadly a few left wingers also make the same mistake by equating the ills of Zionism with Jews per se.

The Ashkenazis who settled and ran Israel from it's modern founding are more culturally and ethnically aligned with Americans. That's probably the only reason conservative and most mainstream Americans trust Israelis more than Palestinians. Not that much less insidious from a strategic and diplomatic standpoint, but more likely than all that rapture stuff.

Sounds legit. Any future illegal land grabs and occupations should be judged by the Hernan Cortes judicial precedent of 1538. Such brilliance, conservatives are proud to call you a fellow partisan.

And that punishment is _ "not a damn thing."

But are you sure those people are ingenious to that land...??? That could be why those European Jews don't give a F and are kicking them off the land.

In Israel, Jews of non-Euopean origin are mostly right-wingers, even if the heads of their parties are still Ashenazi.

The Ashkenazim who settled and built Israel are more culturally and ethnically aligned with Europeans and traditional notions of secularism and the welfare state. They take their vacations in Europe, and often hold second passports because they can, and their kids and grandkids are moving there. And politically, nothing has changed since 1977: the traditional Left is still tainted for making the mistakes of bungling the economy by not being welcome enough of Anglo-American style capitalism, nearly losing the Yom Kippur War, setting the precedent of giving political power, welfare, and draft deferments to the ultra-religious, being the first to build the settlements, and discriminating against non-Ashkenazim. They are seen as a bunch of elitist losers.

The modern Likudnik voters and those right of them are largely Mizrachim and working class and they are the ones more aligned with the US because they share a conservative-religious-nationalistic-peace-through-superior-firepower way of looking at things. While discrimination between Jews in Israel is decreasing and inter-marriage increasingly common, the population as a whole is also turning the volume up on nationalism and xenophobia. They are much more like voters in Red America, even if their grandparents and culture are more North African, Persian, Yemenite or Iraqi.
