All I have been reading online is that W10 is supposed to be an amazing OS. Only unknown right now is the possible bugs that might show... Wondering if I should do it or just wait a few weeks once things (if anything) gets patched
Better to be safe and wait a couple weeks. That being said, the build being pushed out has been out there for a while with Insider users that have been beta testing it and no real significant problems have been reported. YMMV.
I signed my boss up for the developer's preview and he's been running it for the past month or so and says he's loving it.
I'm not going to touch it on my work PC until I'm sure everything will be stable. My laptop at home I might mess around and install tonight if I'm bored.
OS X > Haha... Joking, but I did just buy a Mac. Still interested in seeing what's new with the Windows 10 though.
Honestly, it's like 7 and 8 put together. I've been with the beta of it for quite some time, and it's on my daily driver. I like it. Then again, I didn't absolutely hate 8.1. I've had almost no issues with it on my SP3. I did have to unlink my MS account, then relink it to fix some sync issues but that's it.
New Vegas runs fine so far. And that's including all the mods I have from Nexus Mods lol. EDIT: wait. New Vegas is messing up lol. UPDATE: Never mind. Looks like it was just a regular New Vegas crash. Working fine now. Windows 10 is great. Start menu takes the best of Windows 7/XP and the best of Windows 8 and mashes them together.
i'm curious...if i upgrade...what happens if i need to do a reformat at some point? do i have to use the windows 7 cd i have? will i not be able to get windows 10 again without paying for it?
Windows 8/10 have a reset mechanism in it such that you don't even need the CDs. Also, by reserving your copy of 10, it's now yours forever.
Also a headsup to anyone that doesn't have an upgrade notification yet: DO NOT USE THE "FORCE UPGRADE" TRICK THAT IS FLOATING AROUND. A bunch of impatient morons bricked their upgrade because they couldn't wait an hour for release last night. Lots of activation problems and those are for the people that used said trick.
