1-Curry 2-Westbrook 3-Paul 4-Wall 5-Irving 6-Lawson 7-Conley 8-Lilliard 9-Bledsoe 10-Lowry Lawson scores just slightly less than Conley while assisting nearly twice as much. Those who think he's not top ten are not giving him credit for his elite assists and A/TO ratio. Parker and Rose are shells of themselves and Dragic and Lowry are way overrated on this board. Teague isn't consistent enough to be top ten.
I think he is what is needed on this TEAM. I would not trade him for more than 6 other point gaurd in the league as a fit for the Rockets --> if He takes on his role for this TEAM. (2nd unit with starter playing time and playing off of Harden and making the game easier for his teammates. At other times closing out games when his number is called on.)
The guy isn't even guaranteed to start over Pat ****ing Beverly and we're talking about him being top 10? If that's the case, what does that make Beverly? Top 15, maybe.
It makes Beverley a better fit with the first unit. Rankings are tough, but there are certainly not nine other point guards who you could definitely say are absolutely better than Ty Lawson. I don't think some people realize what we have stumbled onto.
let's see 1. Curry 2. Paul 3. Westbrook 4. Wall 5. Irving 6. Rose 7. Conley 8. Lillard 9. Teague 10. Bledsoe 11. Dragic 12. Lowry no Lawson not top 10
This list, before the DUIs, puts 10 of them ahead of Lawson: http://www.nba.com/2015/news/hca/01/06/the-list-top-10-point-guards/ This one projects 9 different PGs ahead of him: http://www.nba.com/magic/gallery/cohen-8ball-projecting-best-nba-point-guards-2015-16-season This one puts him 15th: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12563832/nba-espn-nba-forecast-ranks-nba-starting-point-guards-no-1-chris-paul-no-30-dante-exum Here is another top 10 list that he isn't on: http://www.trendingtoplists.com/top-10-point-guards-heading-2015-2016-nba-season I don't think some people realize that he isn't the guy everyone here says that he is. Just because Morey traded for a drunkard that no one outside of the comically bad Lakers organization wanted doesn't automatically make this guy a top 10 player at his position. And this whole idea that he just isn't as good of a fit for the first unit is such bull****. If he is demonstrably better than the other guys at his position, the he starts. Simple as that.
It's not just this board. ESPN put Lawson at #15 based on four categories (Leadership, Defense, Playmaking, and Scoring). Dragic and Lowry are both ranked #13 and #7 respectively. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...point-guards-no-1-chris-paul-no-30-dante-exum Now I disagree with those rankings, especially with Rubio so high, but it is debatable.
He's top 10 in playmaking. That's all I really care about. That and he can create his own offense and relieve some of the pressure off of Harden.
What the **** do I care about some random blogger's bull**** listing. People are idiots, have agendas, or have biases.
