Yeahhh... it just seems like there's a certain physicality to Apocalypse. No matter your acting chops, if you're 5' 7", you can't really act like you're 7' tall. "I'm Apocalypse!" "Oh, sorry. I thought you were an accountant weekending at ComicCon or Mardi Gras or some crap. My bad!"
Man, I was hoping for some post-filming special FX to beef up Apocalypse but that just looks... so bad man.
They'd be better off not even showing Apocalypse for the majority of the film and then just having a CGI machine or something with a voiceover. I'm serious, that looks straight out of 90s Power Rangers/VR Troopers tv shows. Terrible terrible terrible.
You guys are seriously complaining about a still from a movie that's still filming? The people on this thread, honestly. 1. That's a photo still from production. Plus, will you guys actually be thinking, the whole runtime, that Apocalypse was a bad casting choice just because of the height? That may be the case if Apo was all about intimidation by brute strength, but he has abilities! I know I don't give two craps how short some dude is when the villain possesses genius level intellect and the ability to transform his body. 2. Everyone complains about too much CGI, but now that an human being is actually in costume with makeup, people are now crapping on that? What exactly is it, that you guys want? You can't say that stuff shouldn't be CGI, and then turn around and say that only CGI can save the image of Apo. OT, tho: Munn looks the part for Psylocke.
Well, we are complaining, but I don't know how serious anyone is around here about a film in production. I mean... give or take Justalighteneup Francis.
Pet peeve of mine... Just because you've heard someone say something once upon a time doesn't mean you can use that against an entirely different person at a future date. Person A says he doesn't like CGI Person B says he likes CGI Person C says to person B "You can't have it both ways! Make up your mind!" Derp.
Definitely (B) Not sure why you think I'm taking it too seriously. I'm having fun with the ridiculousness of the picture by comparing it to Ivan Ooze (who, as an aside, was part of my favorite movie OF ALL TIME when I was younger)
I love Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse. I love Fassbender. They locked-up Jackman, Lawrence, and other emerging stars before they blew up. Outside of Tatum sleeping with an executive to get a movie deal for Gambit I'll never question their casting choices. The look just doesn't appeal to many fans right now. I feel like they missed the mark. We'll see.
One has to believe he is going to get bigger in the movie. He HAS to. Otherwise they are totally wasting the EPIC villain that is APOCALYPSE.
Why not use a proven formula like Hulk in the Avengers and just go CGI. Apocalypse needs to be bigger then a man.
I'm all for using a real person. Ultron was the best I've seen and it just... doesn't feel right. But they can recreate a more accurate and not so goofy looking version of Apocalypse. Guillermo del Toro movies always have cool looking **** in them, get his costume guy.
