Waking up and hoping to see some cyberx bombs, instead the only thing being talked about is malakas being a girl, disappointing. And malakas, no need to pretend you're a dude, we have respected females like KlutchQT here, it's no issue and 99% still would've respected your opinions.
They offered Llull 13.1 mil over three years (so a good amount of the MLE, but still enough to bring KJ back) I think if they offered all the MLE to Llull, they'd have steered him away from Madrid. Shows what the front office and coaching staff believe KJ is capable of doing.
I don't doubt your word, but I would appreciate a link that shows the Rockets made Llull an offer. Morey definitely likes to make relatively small offers to players, to save money on others, but it results in backfiring on him. K-Pap refused to come for 2.2 M with the initial offer that they made to him. It wasn't possible for him, to join Houston with his buyout until he got 4.6 M. The Mavs on the other hand got a better player in Aminu for 1.1 M while Houston was negotiating with K-Pap. Josh Smith may leave Houston even if he was offered the Full MLE, but he is more important than KJ.
Thats a ridiculous post. Why haven't the Rockets spent 1 single penny of their MLE? Do you think any team considering signing KJ to a contract doesn't realize the Rockets have not spent 1 single penny of their MLE? Do you have a clue what that even means? Teams have not signed KJ to a contract because there is no contract that they can sign KJ to that the Rockets will not match. Once they sign KJ their money will be tied up for 3 days and they will be setting idle until the Rockets match, which they will do. At that point teams may have missed out on someone else that they value that they could have signed. Dragic and Lowry are two exceptionally similar cases where so many on this board were shaking their heads at acquiring them. Why the hell would anyone trade Rafer Alston for Kyle Lowry? Why the hell would any team trade the leagues MIP for Dragic? Don't pretend everything in the league is so simple and so black and white. There are very good reasons why teams that value KJ very highly have not given him an offer sheet, it's called "Restricted Free Agency", as in signing KJ just does the Rockets a favor.
A couple of things here needs to be cleared up. 1. Josh Smith is not restricted. He can sign an offer sheet in the agents office and have it sent to the league office with out ever notifying the Rockets. Deal done and over. Rockets would have no right to match. Josh could get an offer without signing and ask the Rockets if they want to match it (remember Dragic). The team could pull the offer at anytime the team wants as long as Josh has not signed it. 2. KJ is a restricted free agent. Teams can offer him up to 5.464 million using cap space or their MLE if its available. Once KJ signs the contract then the league office is notified as is the Rockets and the 72 hour clock starts. This is a signed contract and teams can not arbitrarily withdraw the contract. That cap space or MLE is tied up until the Rockets make a discussion or for 72 hours, whichever comes first.
Sounds to me then that KJ and Smooth are doing us a solid and are waiting so Morey can make some deals. C'mon Morey, get that first domino to fall!!!
http://abcblogs.abc.es/baloncesto/public/post/la-verdad-sobre-la-renovacion-de-llull-16421.asp/ Article needs to be translated and not very clear about the 13.1. It does say he would be taking 7 mil euros less than 21 by coming over though. I think the buyout ate into whatever the offer was though. Heres a good article about Joshs free agency situation.
Thanks, it is very well written, but a S/T is only possible for 2.49M non-Bird rights with Josh Smith and thus is very unlikely.
