i think it is pretty slim that the spurs will stay healthy this year. i can see ginobli and duncan missing a LOT of time.

Like I posted in the other thread. Good for him for wanting to be with his family.

Not what I want, but at least a choice that I an understand. The Spurs have talent (especially young co-star Kawhi) and a front office that knows what its doing. It's a rational choice-- as HOU would have been. too. It would have confused me had he gone elsewhere-- certainly the Lakers but even the Suns to a degree.

Anyway, I wonder what the Rockets next moves are. Is Morey serious about just keeping our guys if LaMarcus (or another big name hard-to-get FA) doesn't materialize? Is there a trade to be made now that the FA market is largely settled? I'd think some teams have been waiting teams to either land or miss out on free agents before trading guys.

He can be the man in San Antonio, the Rockets will always be Harden's team.

    Look at the bright side.

Instead of there being 7 legit title contenders in the West, there's only 5 now (GSW SAS OKC MEM & HOU). Clippers and Blazers are done for.

LA went from being the best player in Oregon to being the 3rd best big man in Texas.

Rockets never had a chance, unfortunately.

LMA never truly considered Houston...and I'm not sure why.

Knew it was going to be spurs. I'm friends with his baby mama who lives in San Antonio along with his little boy.

They need a PG, they need shooters (just as they did coming into the offseason).

What's the cap space like? Just the MLE?

Besides Smith, Terry & McDaniels (all TBD), they've done what Daryl said they'd do: bring their guys back. Is that enough?

Gonna be fightin' and clawing in the Western Conference again.

    Using last year's standings...

    1. Warriors will probably take a slight step back(67W) but still very good.
    2. Houston - hasn't lost anyone yet
    3. Clippers - Major blow to lose Jordan, so likely a step back but not ready to write their obituary like many.
    4. Portland - Major step back.
    5. Memphis - Will be right there again. Likely losing Koufos, added Barnes & Wright.
    6. San Antonio - Not going anywhere
    7. Dallas - Same or maybe slightly better.
    8. New Orleans - Bringing back the same team with a new coach.
    9. Oklahoma City - If healthy, will be there at the top.

And then 10. Phoenix and 11. Utah will be fighting to make the playoffs.

    12. Denver 13. Sacramento 14. Los Angeles 15. Minnesota after that.

Okc is a 4th or 5th seed we are top 3. Durant and Westbrook make one or the other weaker causing the entire team to be were I have them ranked.

If those two are healthy, they're a top 3 team, easy...they don't take away from each other, they've always been great together. Evidence: every year when they were healthy.
