if you told me right now that springer will be out for 2 weeks, I'd take that! Just don't want it to be a lowerie situation.
I don't think he's eligible to come back until tomorrow. Kemp would still be a long shot since he isn't on the 40-man, and would likely go back down. I'm expecting Villar.
With a day off, they don't need to make a move until tomorrow, right? Grossman may also be a short term possibility. Has experience in center and is on the 40-man.
I never said it was a box score error (I assume you are talking about me since I was the only one to mention seeing a box score). I just mentioned that I saw it on two separate box scores implying that it was NOT an error. I understand the official scorer has leeway and I wish they would do it more often, but it is very rare (unless the starter doesn't go 5 innings) to see. I am just surprised that they didn't give Neshek the win and Gregerson the save, then 2 pitchers would benefit.
5-2 against the 2 other best teams in the AL, could have easily won all 7. This homestand was most impressive. Would have really nice for this homestand to extend into the Independence Day weekend, would have likely been some really nice crowds. As is the fans are slowly but surely starting to hop on board with this squad. 25,000 for the last 2 games, both of which were mid week. About 35,000 for the Yankees series, and about 33,000 for the last weekend series against Seattle. I think we'll have the juice box rockin in August if we keep it up.
Right now Astros have third best record in all baseball St. Louis K.C Houston People should be going to the ballpark BY NOW
Didn't think about a day (seems like we never have those). Marisnick will definitely come back up, assuming he doesn't re-aggravate anything (ugly 0-4 3K in his first rehab game). It will suck for whoever will be traveling after tonight's Fresno game up to Boston, assuming they don't make a decision before then. I commented earlier that Villar, Grossman, and even Hoes would be an option. Hoes has hit so well, but the Astros have only put him in CF twice (1 start), so I'd say they don't view him as very capable.
After having an outfield of Rasmus, Marisnick and Springer for much of the year, it was scary to see Gattis, Santana and Tucker the last few innings.
I would guess Villar for CF as he's probably the best on 40-man defensively (Barf). Off the 40-man, Kemp, Aplin would be options.
Boston has a tough cf so i dont care if Marinesek does not hit because he is coming from an injury but if healthy and can play lets play him just for defense because we need that, unless Rasmus is ready. With the short LF in Boston, we can play Gattis there.
It's interesting that LJ Hoes doesn't seem to be in the discussion at all, especially when he keeps getting listed as trade bait (Orioles and Angels rumored to be interested in him).
We need to pitch well also. With today off, we'll only have one non-McCullers/Keuchel game. Best remedy for a potentially bad defensive outfield and a weakened offense... shutouts, groundballs, and Ks.
