One of my concerns in all this is why Dwight didn't show for the recruiting meeting (supporting his buddy josh maybe who plays the same position)? Batman any speculation that you could share?
Yeah to get "boshed" means to move assets for a FA and then have them go elsewhere (ie moving Lin at the cost of our 1st rounder)
Other than Bosh who I thought was 10000% perfect. 3 point range, a great P&R defender, and already proved he could put away his ego and be the third fiddle.
I could share my opinion on it but I don't really have one except that it doesn't concern me in the least. Regardless of their friendship, there's no way Dwight thinks Smith is a better player. And anyway getting Aldridge wouldn't inhibit our ability to sign Smith to the vet minimum. If he really wants to be here, he'll take it. He's already being paid by Detroit.
Smith is a free agent so in theory he maybe all for LMA if it means having to move both Dmo and TJones leaving a void in backup PF which Smith would be perfect for. Now the question would be would Josh Smith be willing to come off the bench for the entire season? If he buys into that (regardless if its LMA, TJones starting) it would be the best for the team
I am not going to cede the idea that he's decided based on a SpursNation tweet but I can imagine taking the meeting out of respect. He told them he'd hear them out and I'm sure they've put a lot of work into their presentation. Think back to last year when we waited weeks and weeks while LeBron took a vacation and put everybody on hold. We're only 24 hours into free agency. I don't think it's indulgent of Aldridge to take 48 hours. How long did we wait for Bosh? Aldridge isn't making people wait. He's seeing a ton of teams and making a pretty quick decision about the next four years of his life. He's impressed me so far during his free agency with his maturity. It wasn't just LeBron last year. Everybody made teams wait. Aldridge seems committed to getting this done quickly. I won't be mad if it takes him a week. But it seems like he wants to get it done much more quickly than that. I have really appreciated that about him. That and the fact that there's no drama around his free agency. And that he didn't want to hear about entertainment opportunities; he wanted to talk about basketball. The Knicks know they're the longest of shots and they still want to be heard. Aldridge said he'd hear them. I like that he means to honor that commitment.
He bought into it before. We only switched Smith in the starting rotation because of the D-Mo injury and because of Terrence Jones just absolutely getting demolished by Blake Griffin.
Borning day for Rockets but just downright embarrassing for Lakers. Berx' needs to give his LAL sources a little reality check. Rep if someone posts the cyberx HAM post did a little digging but I'm no archaeologist. We won't see any Rockets news for you Owls until LA makes a decision.
I think he's made it very clear that he's happy to come off the bench if that's what McHale thinks is best.
