What do you guys think? Honestly, I can't think of a ton of players I would compare him to since I didn't watch him a lot, but from his scouting report he reminds me of Dave DeBusschere. "Defensively is where Harrell figures to make his mark at the NBA level, as he has a relentless motor to go along with strong physical tools (length, strength, athleticism), and will often be seen sacrificing his body and diving on the floor for loose balls, not being afraid of anyone or trying anything to get the job done." From DraftExpress.com http://www.draftexpress.com/#ixzz3eB9VKquW http://www.draftexpress.com "Dave DeBusschere was nicknamed "Big D". The "D" stood for Defense. A hard-nosed, tenacious forward, DeBusschere was one of the game's all-time best defenders. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in each of the award's first six years of existence. DeBusschere was average in size at 6-6 and 225 pounds, but he possessed a work ethic that was second to none. During his 12-year NBA career he represented the epitome of the blue-collar basketball star." http://www.nba.com/history/players/debusschere_bio.html
I get the joke, but it doesn't work for black players. If you are white and short you are compared to guys like Steve Nash no matter what your actual skills as a PG are. If you are tall and white but not a center you are compared to a long list of tall sharpshooters. Sam Dekker was compared to Wally Sczerbiak, Kyle Korver, Mike Dunleavy and Chandler Parsons.
De Bush? One of the greatest and most iconic of my Mt Rushmore of personal 'sports idols'. To me you've offered greater praise than any 2nd rounder could be expected to receive.
If I'm being completely honest I don't know too many white players that play with that level of ferociousness and resilience it's not because white players are soft or anything it's just that most white players don't really do that lol but if I had to choose one I'd say Asik is the closest one.
