Because they just won 67 games and have brilliant chemistry, and there's no reason to mess with that. The salary cap skyrockets next year anyway, and that contract would be both cheap and tradable if they ever change directions.
"Worth it" is relative. If they win the title this year, he'll have been a critical piece of the puzzle, especially on defense. You don't really want to preemptively break up a championship team until they show that they can't win again.
They'll match. But they'll have to get rid of Lee. And they won't be able to afford both Barnes and Ezeli next summer.
He's definitely a max player. I'm actually shocked that some of your are so blind to the unique(and in demand now) skill set he has. Dude can defend 4 or 5 positions, is a decent long range shooter for a big, can finish at the hoop, is an adequate passer for a big, can rebound, plays monster defense, and is still fairly young. Deandre Jordan does half that and is getting the max. Green annoys the **** out of me, but I would take him on our team in a heartbeat and I think most GMs would too.
Yeah, my guess is Ezeli will be gone (Barnes is a more important piece, and big men get paid more anyway) and they'll try to trade Lee.
Parsons is getting about 16 and people are saying 12 is overpaying Draymond with the cap jump? He'll get paid no matter what the offer and they'll either bite the bullet on the luxury tax or find.a way to cap dump Lee.
